Lydia found herself right where she had came from. Or at least that's what she thought until she started on her way out of the woods with her favorite hat on. The sun beamed down and revealed a place she didn't recognize. It was the same place she imagined, but it looked so different from what she was use to. She saw something pass by that ran by some sort of motor. The world she found herself in shocked her senses.

She was about as far away from home but yet as close to home as she could possibly be. Lydia walked for a while more until she found her way to Main Street. At least there it looked more like the town she had known in her own time. There was a cafe, shops, a corner store, and a... an electronics store. When was the shock ever going to come to an end she wondered as she looked around.

Thomas watched as the girl, most likely a teenager to his knowledge, gawked around. The hat made him think of the rumored portal. He hadn't thought twice about it before, but no teenager he knew would be caught dead in a hat like that. It got him thinking about what he thought about this portal. Could it be bad or was it good. By the looks of it was good at least for the time being.

He watched from a distance for a good while. Thomas enjoyed seeing someone look around acting as they hadn't seen any of it before. It sure beated the daily routine of his. As he watched from the corner store, the town's general store, he wondered why the girl was here in their now. Did she want to come here or had it just been some strange accident that landed her here.

He thought about it long and hard and then decided to find out for himself. He called the girl over rather quietly. There was no need to alarm anyone at this time. Thomas just wanted to talk to her. He stood there waiting in the doorway of his store.

Lydia heard a man's voice call for her. Well it was either that or there was another girl around that he didn't know. She took it as being targeted for her though and turned around to find a male standing in the doorway of the general store and walked towards him. She was anxious to say the least. Then again who wouldn't have been?

"Hello sir," she said looking up at him. "What a nice store you have here."

She sure had the manners of a long time ago he thought to himself. He liked how she addressed him it expressed respect, something he rarely got from anyone those days. It wasn't much different from the rest of her though. Everything about her spoke of respect in one way or another he could of sworn.

"Where are you from?" He said it with such informality that he wondered if she'd be too taken a back by the way he spoke nevermind the question. "I mean, I haven't seen you around here before now."

"Umm..." She was caught wasn't she? Lydia's mind raced with anxiety. This guy probably would think she was some kind of witch. Isn't that what everyone thought of people that pretty much time traveled. It had to be dark magic too of course, if not how could any other form. Clearly someone like her would get ran out of town before the day was over. She didn't have a standing chance against much of anyone.

She didn't stay around to find out her fate. Lydia simply took off on foot as fast as her two legs and feet could carry her in such outdated getup. She ran and ran and didn't look back, but at the same time made sure that she held her hat tight to her head.
