Oh gosh.
I have never seen it coming.
It seems that now, YouTube is trying to find every single video
that has been using copyrighted music.

Most people in YouTube use copyrighted music so if they take it down, YouTube might turn into a ghost town.

4 of my videos got muted because of that, I think Jamie's 1 video was targeted as well.
I warned my friends, no warning you guys.

Be careful.
D:

[If you like Maple videos, then you should know famous people like dray86, ShinobiMS, etc. One of their kick ass videos was ... targeted as well.

Kenny... I know how that feels =[ -hugs Kenny-

... Me too... and luckily, one of them I had to 'claim' my video disputing the whole thing... so annoying. And as for the other video yea... had to re download it around 5 times and still, same thing x___x so finally, had to change the music into... ugly music xo.

Suggestion: ALWAYS, and I repeat, ALWAYS, but a disclaimer/copyright message thingie in your description.

This isn't new, YouTube has been doing this for years. I had one of my videos removed a few years ago.

@ Taylor, I agree with you but perhaps it has been... stronger? I mean, I posted a video like 1 year ago and recently got copyrighted ._____. When I uploaded it again, it immediately got copyrighted AGAIN .___. So yea... youtube has gone... far more strict than before T----T

It's because of the situation with viacom and youtube. About 6 months ago Viacom sued YouTube for a billion dollars claiming they were hosting copyrighted music and shows published by viacom, and YouTube is getting smarter because of that. The judge actually ordered YouTube to send their database of what people watch, what people upload, your personal info that you registered with and what you search. Just be careful, it's a battlefield.

i don't know where you live but in america its against the copyright laws to use a song you dont have permission to use. we did a school project about a year ago making a little video and we had to follow copyright laws which states you're only entitled to use 15 seconds or 10% (whichever is SHORTER) in your video. and that rule only applies to school projects, therefor you cant use any music you dont own in a non school related video.

i know none of you care and will still use songs, but im just clearing it up for you guys why they delete your videos.

I've heard that before and yea, I do not live in the U.S. therefor I'm not familiar with certain... copyright laws, but I do know that there are certain 'songs' that are not permitted to use, but if you have a look everywhere, people will still use copyrighted material, either they do not know or 'x reason'. And about school video projects, well, I suppose it's a reasonable rule which might 'teach' us our lesson =X

its not very reasonable considering the video had to be minimum of 3 minutes long. it was kind of funny hearing chopped up music and like 10 or so songs on a 3 minute video. XD

That's why some people speed it up to make it sound funny like Alvin and the Chikmunks singing it
