The Fog Is Lifting

Posted by: Bob_Wilkin

Since Mom died a month ago, I’ve been operating in a fog. I’ve nearly been in about 10 car accidents. I’ve had trouble concentrating. I feel okay, just sluggish. A friend told me this is part of grief and it may well go on for 6 months or more.

It seems that the fog is lifting a bit. I’m concentrating better and feel more normal. I’m still sluggish, but not as much as the last month has been.

Thank you all for your prayers. Both Zane and Mom had full lives and I am very grateful for what God gave them (and me through them). Until this fallen world passes away, death is a “normal” experience. I long for the day, coming soon, when there will be no more pain and no more death. A million years from now death and pain will be such distance memories it will be like trying to remember what it was like when the doctor cut the umbilical cord.

I spoke at Free Grace Bible Church in Richardson, Texas this past Sunday and really enjoyed the fellowship. This Sunday I’m scheduled to speak at Victor Street Bible Chapel in Dallas, my home church. Then in a week I’ll be in So Cal for our winter board meeting, and on Jan 18th I’m speaking at Coast Bible Church in San Juan Capistrano (9AM Sunday School and at 10AM I’ll be giving a 5 minute update on GES and Zane), and also at Church of Hope in Laguna Hills (2:00 PM for the sermon and 3:45 PM for Q & A).

I would appreciate your prayers that we have an outstanding national conference March 30-Apr 2 in Fort Worth (at SWBTS’s Riley Conference Center). We have an excellent line up of speakers including Drs. Tony Evans, Jody Dillow, John Niemela, Steve Lewis, Lon Gregg, Bob Bryant, and me. Plus we’ll be hearing from Zane via his past messages, both audio (with pictures) and video. And about 8 of us will be sharing memories about what Zane taught us.
