I don't like the Democrats and Republicans being the only powerful parties. Lets not vote for them

the american system makes it extremely difficult for a third party to succeed, and it would be much easier to cause a shift in judgment among one of the existing parties... i'd say it's likely that a 3rd (or 2nd following a fall of one of the two aforementioned) party will not emerge for centuries. there will, of course, be shifts, though. the parties are quite conflicting though, and the benefits of the conflict seem to outweigh the results of countries without... I personally see myself aligned more with the Democrats, and I would rather have my vote count for something I "pretty much" agree with, than have it virtually effectlessly cast for someone without a chance. And I realize that inhibits change but I can only see change arising from schisms within the dominating parties. |

Yes there are many parties in existence. But two parties in control means that other views get left out. I'm extreme economic left, but slightly social right. No party really covers me. |

Johnson, you have two choices: accept the fact that we really have a two party dominance or change the system. But if you decide to do the latter, don't expect change. |

If he merely accepts it, he can't expect change either. The best thing we could do is educate everyone past apathy, past straight-ticket voting.. and on to the issues a country faces. But that's going to take centuries. You can run for office yourself... If you run for president, I'll consider voting for you (but I'd expect favors if you win..). You can become a lobbyist... you can convince all your friends that they should think your way. You could seek another government clerk job, or write letters, or even move to another country. It's a great thing to have so much freedom. But all I'm saying is that it's, for now, nearly impossible to take down either of the parties. I obviously can't make a choice for you... but personally, I'd vote for whichever man's ( ) ideals I agree with more, within the two parties..
