Rain drops were falling, there was noise of a distant altercation to his left, yet all Miya could hear was the scraping of his nails. He had been sitting on this tree branch for hours, mostly because the depths of his lake grew boring. Now the surface grew boring. So he scrapped, so much so that Miya's fingernails had made large indents in the wood. He wasn't sure if it was frustration that caused this, however trance-like became his motions . He hadn't drank blood in a few months now, the parents of the badlands had convinced their children that the man in the lake was not one they should play with. He wasn't bad...just thirsty at the moment. Besides....children were too sweet. He needed something bitter. Twitching a bit, Miya finally broke from his daze and looked back down to the lake. It looked pathetic in the context of the former beauty it had. To go back 100 years, the lake would be something different indeed. However, now it burned the skin of most...any everything but the metal of the chains on the sandy lake floor. That metal, and anything belonging to Miya. However, those he drank from and drown....somehow constituted as belonging to him, so they dwelled just a bit longer and usually took about a decade to dissolve, how annoying. Now however, there was no human dissolving, but a leaf, slowly steaming and bubbling as it skimmed on the surface. This caused Miya to sigh and look away, things seemed so uneventful recently. Back to scratching away at the tree again, the rain continuing to soak the earth, as well as Miya...entirely |

Hiroto had grown hungry and bored. He had decided to wander and somehow, in someway he couldn't even begin to fathom, had ended up here. At the lake he had been to as a child. It was untouchable now, unable to swim or drink from. Yet he had loved it so much as a young Incubus. He had brought a couple of lovers there, when it had been more beautiful and more stunning to look at before it had become what it had been. Hiroto hadn't been sure what had drawn him here, perhaps the memory of someone who had once feed him, in his much needed hunger? He walked to the edge of the lake, kicking a small rock in and watching as it sank, wondering how long it would take to dissolve and simply join the contents of the once lovely landscape. He froze, however, when he spotted something he hadn't ever thought he had spotted before. A kappa! A real, live, living breathing Kappa! He let out a squeak of excitment before growing quiet. Everything he had heard about Kappas had indicated they were easily startled and he wanted to observe the creature as long as possible. Being a mute, that wasn't all that hard, yet he stood, frozen and afriad his terrified squeak would scare the creature away. |

Miya's trance was ended yet again, this time with a small rock hitting the surface of what was his. It was as if it had hit him. He looked to the lake, staring at the ripples caused it's tainted mass. It didn't take long to dissolve and when it was done, Miya's cold stare moved to the molester of this precious body of water. Before his gaze landed, he heard a distinct squeak, but paid no mind as it fell to the demon. Staring momentarily his nails stopped in their incessant scraping and moved to just grip the branch. There was a feeling of familiarity when he looked at the man below him. Sniffing the air Miya caught a distinctive smell. "Incubussss." He sighed to himself...their stench was hard to mistaken. Suddenly He hopped from the branch, splashing into a shallow part of the lake that was below the tree. Miya sighed again, cracking his neck. The tattoo on his face, which had only faintly shown due to the rain was now growing it's normal dark shade of purple. With another sigh, he turned to face the incubus and tilted his head. This one had been here before...he just couldn't remember when and how long ago. He needed a better look. So, Miya began to walk towards the man, the acidic water sloshing at his ankles as he neared the Incubus. "Who are you?" He sighed, when he got in ear's reach. "You've been here before Incubus, why are you here again?" |

Instead of the Kappa running away, he got closer. Hiroto watched in fascination as the creature came toward him, closer then he thought he would ever see a mythical creature like this one. He wished he had a camera, sure that no one would believe his encounter with a real Kappa. He canted his head to the side however, when the Kappa looked angery rather then scared or curious. He took a small step back when his speices was named and when the questions were asked. "I.... I'm Hiroto." He thought to the other man, his thougths even stuttering as he tried to think of how to tell the other what he had done here, why he was back, "I... I used to come here as a child, then when I got old enough I would bring lovers here to feed off." He answered honestly, his thoughts trying to hide the fear he held for the other while he sent the words to the other man. |

Miya was mildly startled when he heard the Incubus's voice without the man even opening his mouth. He hadn't interacted with others in so long, he'd forgotten demons could do that. Miya didn't like that at all. Did that mean they could read his mind? Who would want to do that...Miya didn't even like knowing what he was thinking. "Do you not have a voice....Hiroto." the name was familiar that was for sure...but then again, if the Incubus had brought lovers here, more then likely Miya had heard the human moaning the boy's name before his heart was ripped out. |

Hiroto looked at the Kappa and canted his head to the side, "No, I can't talk. I can't hear what you think either," He said, knowing that was something people often wondered about when they first met him. He looked around the lake and sent off a curious feeling toward the other man, wondering why he wasn't running away, liked KapPa's were supposed to do when they met humans and demons and things. "Is this your lake, Kappa-san?" He asked, then paused, "Do you have a name?" |

Miya stared blankly, his demented mind still wrapping around the idea of talking without even moving one's lips. Of course, he knew how that worked, but it didn't mean that it was a understandable concept. If Miya knew of the incubus's misconception of Kappas he certainly would grow annoyed by the man's perplexed looks. Kappas were normally fascinated with other beings, and Miya himself, loved to observe them/ "Yes...this has been my lake." He sighed again before looking to the left toward the city and then back at Hiroto, "Miya...thats my name." |

"I love it here..." Hiroto said looking around and smiling, "I have so many fond memories of here..." He said, burrying his hands in his pockets and looking at Miiya and letting a spark of happiness and amusement float to the other. "Miya-san, this is one of my favorite places." So many beautiful things had happend at this lake. So many adventures of lust and a couple of love. A few out of pure hunger and maybe even one or two out of fear. Yet this lake had been a safe place to bring his prey. A good place to keep them far enough away that they couldn't run bacm, yet close enough if he had to just feed on energy. He could. |

“If you love it so much, where have you been?” Miya grunted before stepping back a little, the water disturbing ever so gracefully as he looked to the incubus in question. “No one has come here in monthssss.” He sighed, 3 months, 17 days, 5 hours, 34 minutes and countless seconds since anyone beside himself was here. Honestly, Miya was playing with the idea of leaving his lake and walking the streets, just to get a change in scenery as well as some food. |

Hiroto looked down sadly and shuffled his feet a little bit. "I... I went and joined a house, and there was the war, which kept me busy and..." He felt a bit of shame spark through him as the other man asked the question and let the other man feel it as well. He sighed and shuffled his feet again, then looked around, "I didn't not want to come." He said, a small smile coming over his face. "Food has been a little lacking." He said, shrugging and looking around, "Plus, I can't swim in the lake." He hadn't spoken this much to anyone in the house, and now... he was chatting with the Kappa like they were old and best friends. He looked up at the sky for a moment, wondering what had gotten into him today. He looked up at the man and canted his head to the side, "I feel like I've known you forever, why?" |
