Source SDK Mod; Help me :O

Hello fellas, I really want to try to make a Source SDK Mod for any Source game. So, I came here to ask if you guys has got any experience with Source SDK Mods. Because I could use some advice, right now I'm reading all this http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Category:Modding but still, any advice or something like that would help. I won't say much more for now till you guys reply :)

A mod? Can I help? I know just about zilch about moding (modding?) but I can supply a massive amount of ideas and stuff.

So, what kind of mod are you thinking about making?

You're learning skinning, right? I was thinking you could do something like the FaW thing that I'm doing. There could be two teams, Elatists (or something of the sort) and Rebels, and we could use the basic troops on each side as guidelines. Each team would have a resource pool, which is increased by killing enemies and capturing flags. You spend resources on spawning stronger units, or maybe even building sentries and the like.
