So, BFHeroes.org has been hacked, and everything ever posted on the site, has been lost. Go to www.bfheroes.org and give your vote, whether you think Brow should get the forums up and running again, or if you think he should just leave it. And read all the updates he has made - he made a good sketch of his mood

This is sad, very sad. A young, yet growing community for the upcoming Battlefield Heroes game... has been hacked by some anonymous evil person. *cries for a hour*For everyone who is reading this post, let us have 5 minutes of silence for the memorial of The BF Heroes Community...

The site has a forum again. On a chat Solemn had set up, Raneman came on and thought it was Puffles that hacked the site, I had quite a laugh! Solemn and I explained to him why it couldn't have been. Perhaps someone should re-post the recruitment message for Elate on there? Edited by The Cookie Crusher, Aug 15 2008, 07:55 AM.

I really find it hard to have sympathy for those involved on that site. It had devolved into a mess of idiots and bigots and trolls, since the few people on the site with Banhammers refused to use them. In my opinion, a community that accepts everyone is a community that's good for no one. I respect those who helped set the site up for everyone, but given that it wasn't managed properly at all, it's hard to really consider it that much of a loss. The site now has a warning system in place, where if a moderator flags your post as bad you get temporarily banned, then eventually perma-banned. I guess I should add that they also have the power to instantly ban someone if they are extremely offensive Also, you can add people to your "foe" list in the control panel. It reads as follows: Foes are users which will be ignored by default. Posts by these users will not be fully visible. Personal messages from foes are still permitted. Please note that you cannot ignore moderators or administrators. Edited by The Cookie Crusher, Aug 15 2008, 09:02 AM.

I don't know, maybe it was what BFHeroes.org needed to get rid of most of the annoying 9 year olds. We do still have many of them, spamming every where, but it has helped. |

Agreed. The old site was full with spammers and I was relucant to add new threads to my watched list as my mailbox tended to become completely full overnight. And it didn't occur to me wether you could deactivate the notification option
