I'm working on a big mapping project right now. It's a map called cp_Canal_Zone, a Quake World port to TF2. The premise is that there are eight control points scattered around a city that is surrounded by water. A display shows the number ten on the HUD. When a control point is captured, it begins a timer which goes on for one minute. If the timer expires before the other team recaptures the point, either RED gains a point, or BLU loses one. If the point value reaches zero, BLU wins. If it reaches 20, RED wins. That was a crappy description. I know. Oh well. So far, I've sketched out half the map (it's going to be fairly huge) and built the first control point in dev textures. I have a WiP on FPSBanana (Linky) and I would appreciate some help. I'll post up some screen shots soon, but for now, do you have any general suggestion? |

Since it's going to be a different game mode than normal TF2 Control Points, you shouldn't being the map name with "cp." Make up a different name for the new game mode. Good luck with the map!

So do you have a server to host it, or are you going to make some big important internetrelease?

I'm gonna use the Control Point servers to release and play test it. And I know that the name should change, but I can't decide what it will be. "Timer Points?" I dunno. |
