Well, he got more calls in when Adam wasn't there, too...so that's not really a good litmus test. heh
I wasn't listening to Loveline every night when Adam was on. Plurry helped get to the HUB--he's awesome. There's a lot of good stuff on there! I will say that when Loveline isn't live--that's usually when I listen to the older shows.

the book she was plugging on that appearance was horrible
"My Horizontal Life"? Didn't read it. Wasn't curious based on it's premise.

Yeah, obviously with no host, Drew "burns through calls" as he would say.

for its great title and decent premise it just wasn't raunchy enough for my messed up tastes.

Daniel Tosh, I think it was?
Oh man, I forgot about him. He was pretty good too, wasn't he.

Yeah, good man. Daniel Tosh also filled in for Stryker a couple of months ago.

it's possible that westwood one went with stryker because they saw their impending doom business wise.

at this point, even if they wanted to hire someone good, they probably couldn't afford it.

I disagree with this. I listened for Adam's entire run and the calls rarely changed. Most of the calls are...

Indeed.

This is the essence of the stupidity of trying to get through more calls. With only a few rare exceptions, you get a nice survey of all major issues every couple of days just by going through a handful of calls each show. It's way more productive to get more ears on the show than to help individuals on the air one at a time.

Just going by the show's charter, you get teenage listeners and a lot of churn at that because people won't want to hear the same subjects rehashed constantly.

Adam was interesting enough to get Senators, comedians, Ph.D. and MD students, housewives and many others listening in addition to the teens who were going to be there no matter what just because the show fills a certain niche.

There were a number of guest hosts who were in the running for being a permanent cohost

Indeed.

When Adam was on, Loveline was must listen for me. When I was in Hawaii and the show wasn't carried by any affiliates there, I'd bend over backwards to listen before podcasts and streams were readily available. Even back then, when Stryker would sub for Adam, I'd listen to a few minutes, find it unlistenable and then stop.

There were quite a few other subs who were at least worth listening to before Adam left, and there were plenty in the 9 month period between Adam's departure and Stryker's signing.

yet no one who posts against stryker ever pursues that agenda but ironically it's something that Stryker's supporters always read into his detractors comments

I can't echo that enough.

Not only that but Stryker was in the building and it helped that he attached himself to the show like a lamprey.

I think it would be cool if Anderson spoke more, and it was just Drew and Anderson.
