Well I apologize for calling people (not anyone in particular, mind you) children, I sincerely did not mean to offend.

I get that there are a lot of Stryker haters and believe me, it's cool, I mean as I said above at first I also didn't like Stryker, so I dig where you're coming from. It's just as I also sated above I'd hoped this thread would be about OTHER hosts and not a Strykerhaterfest.

I have heard maybe 10 shows with the Poorman over the years from having downloaded them from various sources but now I have maybe four (or five since I'm not on my computer I cant really verify now), these are probably still available where I got them from and a lot of you will probably have them already, if not I'm certainly willing to post them on some file server or share them. The ones I think I still have are:

a) The one with Andy Partridge of "XTC".
b) The one with Robert Smith & Simon Gallup of "The Cure".
c) The one with Peter Hook of "New Order" and another guest who I can't remember but had nothing to do with "New Order".
d) The one with Barry Williams who played "Greg Brady" on "The Brady Bunch".

I'll also try to re-listen to these to refresh my memory about what these shows were like, as I recall the Poorman had quite a few "segments" to the show, there was also the Poorbaby who "appeared" on at least two shows that I can remember and he tended to sort of monopolize the proceedings not letting Drew talk very much, but it was a pretty fun era, I think, and I'll try to do more homework on it.

You're obviously an optimist.

I think even Rodney Bingenheimer would be a better cohost than Stryker.

In that case, have some Machine Story.

lol - i'm the one who discovered the cure episode from '92. it was broken down to segments/multiple .mp3s when i found it, and made it into one file.

other than sharing nearly all the known adam era shows for the last 3+ years on the dc++ hub fairly close to 24-7 year round, that would be my best contribution to the file sharing community.

Poorman/Drew loveline reminds me of the first year of TACS which is to say too many bits and completely inorganic. If you want to do bits and pre-prepared stuff go down to the Museum of Broadcasting and take a listen to radio circa 1943 or so--if you can't even consistently bat above that level why are you bothering?

Bert was great during the tryout period. I also enjoyed the week that DAG did and the other stand-up that tried out whose name is escaping me at the moment--he was born in Germany and raised in Florida. His comedy special is on my DVR right now. I'll never figure it out.

I've got to say, I'd never heard of Chelsea Handler before DAG brought her in one night during the famous week-o-DAG and I thought she would be a great host for LL, totally irreverent, funny, AND a girl, this is perfect! Dare to dream, right?

the book she was plugging on that appearance was horrible. Zero laughs.
