Yes - that was awesome.
Maybe I just totally misread them, but I got the impression that they were more annoyed just at not being the center of attention and the focus of the show. "We thought this was going to be about The Darkness...". Either way, I went away assigning them a very high douche factor. |

You're right, that was definitely part of it. But I remember Drew and Adam turning to the band about some caller and asking basically "what do you guys think" and they seemed very uncomfortable and hesitant to give any kind of answer. |

they tried to muster up some dignity, but I'm with ano on the douche factor. How hard is it to sit in a studio and drink beer for two hours which is what most of the bands do. The calls are interesting and it's not like A & D ignored the band. I think that might have been another source of tension between Adam and Ann--he clearly hated the bands and having to interview them. He never has bands on his show now. |

I think the calls that get me worked up the most are the idiots who call and ask Dr. Drew why he has the right to give advice to teens. Then he explains his medical background for 10 minutes, and that he's been doing the radio advice thing for 26 years, the first 10 for free BTW, and they usually respond by saying something retarded like "So basically your just some DJ on the radio". I hate these ignorant fools. My only peace of mind comes from knowing how stupid they just made themselves out to be on national radio. edit:26 years not 24 Edited by TOBYDOG, Sep 26 2008, 02:48 AM.

I completely agree with you there. I also don't get why sometimes people try to disagree with DrDrew's advice when he gives it to them. I think it's cool when people call in saying, I've been listening to you since the Poor Man days or whoever the co-host was at the time. It's got to make DrDrew feel good that he's making a difference in millions of people's lives every day. DrDrew's not only an inspiration, but someone I look up to. |

Dr. Drew really has come a long way from the Riki Rachtman, Poorman, and almost never mentioned Lewis days. He used to just sit quietly in the background until called upon like some medical jargen spewing robot. Even when a serious call, like some girl was thinking about having sex just to keep her boyfriend, Dr. Drew would never make a peep. Not like the passionate, microphone punching, doctor we know now. Then when Adam came into the picture he allowed Dr.Drew space to come out of his shell and be more human to the listeners, Usually by asking him questions that were inappropriate or by making him laugh at inappropriate times. You know, trying to include him a lot more. Now he's is well known and well respected by all who truly listen to him. He has 3 beautiful kids Jordan, Douglas, and Paulina that he has always made time for. He has a devotion to his wife Susan that is unrivaled by any man or dog (insert P-whip sound effect here). He is obviously a great man to the core. Above all he spends every waking hour of his life doing things to make this world a better place... and he is! Without sounding too gay I think Dr Drew's picture should be under the word "Man" in the dictionary. |
