I always despised DAG. On the show or otherwise, but mostly on the show.

But remember when The Darkness walked out? Hilarity.
OK since I'm not a lovelive listener, someone please tell me who DAG is? And why did The Darkness walk out?

DAG is David Alan Grier, a comedian. The Darkness walked out because they were uncomfortable with addressing the show's subject matter, if I recall correctly.

hm. Never much of a fan of DAG... but good to know he's enjoyable on Loveline.
And I wonder why did The Darkness agree to do the show if they were going to be offended? That's crazy. And it's not like they're a christian rock band (they aren't.... are they?) or something where you MIGHT be able to understand such a reaction from an ENTIRE BAND. Oooh Im getting mad just thinking about it.... which sucks for them because I already hated their music.

It wasn't a religious thing. It appeared that it might be some kind of cultural thing (some of the British bands that have been on Loveline over the years haven't meshed well with the hosts and the show--I think the two prime examples would be Chumbawumba and The Kooks). It's possible they did the show not knowing exactly what subjects Loveline delves into--if I didn't know the show as well as I do, and had just heard the name, I would have assumed it was mostly relationship-advice oriented, or something, when in fact Loveline goes all kinds of places that the name doesn't necessarily imply.

To be fair to them, I think if you thought you were just going to do a normal interview on the radio, then you suddenly hear calls from people who are being raped and such like... it might be a bit of a shock.

True. But if you were supposed to do a show called "Loveline," even a cursory Google-search would let you know that it would be idiocy to think you were only answering questions about your band and such.

The DAG stuff and the Holocaust call comes to mind.

Right now I'm thinking about the time some guy called in, his girlfriend asked him to engage in intercourse with her. The weird part was she wanted him to do so later that night after she’d be sound asleep.

This is something I've heard of before, but much to my shock Adam and Drew had not. Naturally after their years of experience, yet never hearing about such a thing, declared the call “bogus” and was about to hang-up.

Anderson chimed in saying something to the effect of, "No, guys, I dated a girl who was into that."

Both Adam and Drew were dumbfounded. Then I believe Drew spoke up asking, "What would she be thinking about while that happened?"

Anderson - not missing a beat and sounding totally serious - goes, "I don't know. Guess she dreamt she fell on a pipe or something."

Drew recoiled both laughing and disgusted. Seriously, he sounded physically repelled.

Adam too was laughing when he threw in, "More like half a pack of Certs."

I'm sure the story losses something in the translation from verbal to written form, but that always cracked me up as Anderson's best moment by far. Totally golden.

not that this is my favorite moment, but this clip is so intriguing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MY8Xul1bRms

Here, Adam calls out Drew for opening his mouth/finishing sentences too soon (his impulsivity)...

It's funny, because if you really listen to Drew, he does tend to do this. In this clip, Drew mentions his weakness of co-dependency, something he's mentioned before (more admittingly in his book Cracked)

Thoughts?

That clip is funny-I've seen it before. My funniest moment/guest-I really don't have one. There have been too many times to count that I've laughed my ass off listening to the show. I will that Sunday nights are interesting to listen to. I call it the freak fest-it seems that Sunday night callers come up with some of the craziest things I've ever heard. Listening to Drew and Strker try to answer them is quite interesting. Of course Drew gives his best advice possibe but some callers leave you saying WTF.

no--that's funny even in the translation. I think that moment or something like it led to a discussion on The Loveline Companion where I told the story of dating a girl who was into that.
