It really doesn't even matter what her intention was, she could tell by the scenes she was in and the title of the movie that it was mocking him. So her intention doesn't really matter. |

Who's John Irwin? And why does Mary seem/act so reluctant? If she's really intent on getting back into porn, as unhealthy of a decision as that is surely she could pick anything other than this. |

The sad thing is it's not just mocking Drew, it's mocking her own participation in rehab when it seemed to have done her some genuine good. She's also giving all the naysayers of the show more ammo. Has to be somewhat of an embarrassment for Drew. But... is it really surprising that an [ex-?]drug addicted porn star made another porno? [and another girl from the show was in it too.. Jennie something] After all, she was treated for her drug issue, but NOT her sex addiction. Maybe this was a cry for help, it's common addict behavior to do something "bad" or "unforgivable" to those who still see good in them. Negative attention probably feels safe to her, but knowing Drew this won't end their relationship. Susan's reaction was pretty extreme. I know she's invested in Drew being the hero, but he's working with sick people. Not everyone gets their issues wrapped up in a tidy little made for TV package. Obviously MC didn't get completely "cured" by her experience on the show... in any case, she is not responsible for their [nearly adult] kids. Edited by twilit, May 21 2009, 09:36 AM.

She may be invested as you say, but it is perfectly normal for a mother to be concerned about how this will effect her children. I sort of took the therapy comment as tongue in check, but at sixteen they will hear about their father being portrayed in a porn and his work being mocked (don't forget the porn industry has something invested here as well). I'm also sure as parents they are well up to the task of explaining the illness of addiction and what it makes people do. |
