Ch. III
to find the Armor was another story. As we descended in to the dark pits that pockmark the planet, we noticed writing on the wall. Some we could make out, but few were ever complete. They seemed to suddenly stop. Some of them were poems I recall from my ancient history, all of them were about war or death. It was not a good sign. But still we pressed on. Just as we reached his armor, We found the trap. Around 40 pale and gutless beings appeared as if from nowhere and statrted their advance. They seemed to have only a small coherence as a group. We still laid into them with our equipment and left quickly. We did not want to be down there for long. There were too many strange occurences in there.

Next stop, wherever he wants us to go. I hate playing cabbie

The planet was just like the description the navicomp gave us, except worse. It was another jungle planet. Full of the less pleasant creatures known to all and nearly impossible to find anything.

The ruins were also very interesting... what with the dark interior and rueful smirk coming from the commando I would think it to be quite a nice hovel to, you know start a family or become some feirce creature's next prey.

As we approached the building to rendezvous with the target, the commando we were “escorting” dissappeared. Fancy that. We found an encrypted channel and cued into it. It was the commandos conferring with each other “how long they'll last” and “when we should go save their [edit].” that immediately made me become aware instantly. Aware enough to hear the target tell us to come inside the building. We found the interior quiet and dusty enough to see four sets of footprints cross the edge of the room, which was enormous. The center of the room was scattered with large boulders and rubble and a monolith-esque formation was set near the back of the room. The door was set behind it. Swell. Not only can we see what they were talking about, but we need to cross the room in order to pass through... I told the Juggernaught to take the left flank while I take the left. I had no problem becoming silent as I circled the monolith. The juggernaught did not fare better. His attempts were noble, but his bulky armor made him as loud as a klaxon.

The monolith moved...

the largest jungle raptor I have ever seen turned to the Juggernaught and proceeded to attack him. If I enetr into the fray I might not come out alive. Money is useless if you're dead. However, if he were to die, the report would bring all sorts of skepticism upon me and mountains of paperwork... I acted fast as I unleashed a full clip of wrist missiles at the gray leviathan. As they damaged him as much as a papercut would allow, I sprinted around him, trying to keep his iron grip from getting to me. The other hand of the beast was wrapped around my partner. Volley after volley of rockets only aggrivated the monster. As the raptor raised the Juggernaught as if to throw at me, a fact I should have observed long ago came to mind: there's a roof with reflexes known only to assasins I shot a rocket up to the roof, causing tons of rubble onto the head of the raptor, causing it to be successfully pinned for a semipermanent time. As we entered into the room, we noticed four commandos in their armor looking down upon us from some high ruin of some sort.
“I've done your tasks and now wish to continue with my job. I can do that only with your recorded promise to remain hidden.”
“yes, it is done.” replied the Commando, as he threw us our credits.

I've spent enough time here, there's too many things going on that I need to meditate on. And his quests were too simple. And I don't think that's the last time I'll see him.
We left through some other secret entrance (fancy that!) and made it to our respective ships. I wished the juggernaught some good prospects and went back to my cabin, demanding that my ship remain off and kept with only emergency systems and weapons ready.

As I began my meditation, I went through the processes of the past mission. I then brought my cybernetic eye to bring all readable records on the wall to show it contents:

>>File view begin:
>and now look how the sun's began to set.
>A nice mass-grave is all I shall get.

>Once more the good old sunset's glowing red.
>In thirteen days I'll probably be –

>>[data corrupted, cannot continue to view records.]
>>Restart will begin in 5...
>4...
>3...
>2...
>1...
>> restart initiated. Warming up...

As my cybernetic eye warmed up. I chewed long and hard on the information and found nothing but a disturbing image of my past jobs. And especially of my childhood. On those I dare not enter, but I know that I'll find it in my dreams.

And it was now time to honor their presence with my sleep, as fitful as it will be.
