The Basics

Name: Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden
Nickname: Just Harry, thanks.
Age: Wouldn't you like to know? ...Guess you do. 31, if you must ask.
Date of Birth: October 31st
Sign: Scorpio
Orientation: I like the ladies.
Blood Status: Halfsies.
Faction: Call me Magical Switzerland.
Ethnicity: Caucasian. Or, the polite way of saying "One of those pasty folks".
Citizenship: American.

Wand: My staff is my own business.
Bogart: Never met one, and I hope not to.
Patronus: So I've got this thing, right? Imagine a half-chow, half-woolly mammoth. It's a woolly chammoth. You gotta see it.

Relationships

Spouse Nope.

Children Maybe not just yet.

Father: Malcolm Dresden.
Mother: Margaret Gwendolyn LaFey.

Siblings: Pretty sure he'd rather I not say.

Appearance

Hair Color: Dark. Some days it looks black, sometimes brown.
Eye Color: Jesus, you people are curious.
Height: Six and a half feet, give or take a couple grains.
Weight: I don't own a scale. Maybe 200? 210? All I know is, when I sit down I don't have anything spilling over my waistband.
Skin Tone: Paler than I'd like, to be honest.
Color of Choice: Black, brown, green. Earth tones are nice.
Distinguishing Features: Wanna see my left hand? It's pretty gross~. *grins*
Attire: T-shirts, fatigue pants, a nice pair of boots and my badass mantled leather duster. Yeah. I'm that kind of guy. When I can find my hat I rock that, too.
Other: My rings, bracelet and necklace aren't exactly bling, but I think they- in addition to saving my proverbial bacon more times than I care to remember- add a neat sort of flare to my otherwise mundane wardrobe.

Personality

Best Qualities: I'm a little tempted to say something like "My rapier wit and impish grin", but I guess it's a little passé. Not to mention the fact that both of those things have landed me in the hospital more than I feel was strictly necessary. I'm dedicated, stubborn to the point of bad-guy aggravation (favorite part of my day is hearing the guy determined to kill me snarl about "why won't you die?!" and other such nonsense) and determined to help my friends and loved ones no matter what. I'd also like to point out my chivalrous slant, which I feel wins me some points in the moral high-ground game.
Worst Qualities: Probably my afore mentioned chivalrous slant and stubbornness. Hey, anything taken too far will get you in trouble. I'm living proof.
Likes: Faithful cats (Hah!), a nice steak burger and bottle of Mac's home brew, damsels in distress (once the cause of the distress has been dealt with, of course), my car (sure it's a wreck, but it's my wreck), and witty one liners delivered by plucky heroes. I used to like cartoons, and still feel like a large part of who I am today can be traced to the deep philosophical discourses found on the Looney Tunes.
Dislikes: People who use their strength or power to hurt or oppress others, humorless dolts and bad liars. Can't say I'm a big fan of cigarette smoke or health foods, either. I like my meat being made of actual meat. Mirrors, too. Those things are dangerous.
Pet Peeves: People who chew loudly or make orgasm noises while they're doing it. Christ, people, close your mouths.

Goals

Career: I'm a professional Wizard and Private/Paranormal Investigator. Been mostly working out of Chicago until recently.
Love: I'd rather not talk about it. Jesus, you people are like my brother.
Family: I'd like one sometime. Maybe when my life stops being quite so... interesting.
Friendship: I keep the company of good people, interesting people, fun people. Always willing to make new friends, but most people I've met recently seem more interested in taking my head off or trying to kill me with whatever curse is the flavor of the month down at Baskin Satan's 31 Murder Rituals.

Fears and Weaknesses
Don't feel like this is the sort of thing to go around advertising, but for the sake of the interview I'll break it down for you. I'm afraid of everything normal people are afraid of. Fear's a natural defense mechanism that by its rights alone I've come out alive at least two dozen times. Sometimes you just have to run. Other times, you have to fight through the fear. Being afraid is no excuse for not doing what needs to be done. Oh, and kryptonite too. Kryptonite's a big one.

History

Family History
My dad was a magician, a stage illusionist mind you. He died when I was 6. We used to move around a lot, going where he could get work. Then I got taken in by my uncle on my mom's side, Justin DuMorne. Certified psycho and black mage extraordinaire. Of course I didn't know about any of this until I was a teenager. Justin tried to kill me and I tried to kill him right back. As you can probably tell, I won. Then I got picked up by Ebenezar McCoy, not a blood relation but a closer thing to a father than anything I'd had since my dad went. Never knew my mom except what my dad could tell me. Her name was Margaret LaFey. Can't go into too many details there without pulling out some family skeletons from our industrial-sized closet. Which I'm sure you'd be all for, nosey buggers, but for the good of my brother's privacy I'll leave that be.

Individual History
After I got taken in by my uncle, he started me learning the basics (and then some) of magic. Between him and a couple of his private tutors I got a pretty comprehensive grounding and started doing independent studies into the more advanced reaches. By the time I self-defensed my uncle to death and got picked up by McCoy I already had all the power of a pro with little of the control and discipline. McCoy taught me that discipline. He taught me to look inside myself for the right and wrong of the universe and to trust my own judgment. Can't say I'm not a little sore about a few things between him and me, but I'm working past them.
I moved to Chicago a while after McCoy cut me loose and I've been living and working there ever since. That is... until some friends of mine from a wizard organization called the White Council asked me for some help in England. I moved out here shortly after helping them work some stuff out; they offered me a temporary job as a mortal (hear you call them "muggles") to wizard liaison. I'm not too terribly interested in all that in any official capacity- especially once I found out about the slugfest going down between the factions out here- but I'm working pretty much how I did in Chicago. Put an add in the phone book and everything.

"Harry Dresden - Wizard. Lost items found. Paranormal investigations. Consulting. Advice. Reasonable rates. No love potions, endless purses or other entertainment."

((Disclaimery bit: No, this character is not an original of mine. I decided to port him into this universe and play him because he's a badass and smooth criminal. If people have problems with this, I'll change his name or explore some other superficial placation.))
