Rules Last Updated by: Aru Last Updated On: September 20, 2009
Posting All your posts must consist of at least 3 words, unless you are posting in the Forum Games. Remember that 50 well thought out posts are better than 100 that are not.
Spamming The forum would prefer to NOT have spam lingering about everywhere. Spam is all right if it is done in the Forum Games area as well as a couple times, but please don't make it excessive. I would prefer to not have to warn you because you decided to take advantage of this rule since it does NOT say "You'll get warned for spamming right off the bat". You can get warned for spam depending on the spam, where it is located, etc. Preferably? Just avoid doing it.
Cursing Cursing is all right so long as it isn't abused. We don't want to see "Fuck this. Fuck that. That fuckin'" etc. all over the place. We acknowledge younger audiences may come to this site, but it is ran by adults, not children. If you cannot stand how others are speaking (when it comes to cursing) then bring it up with the member through PM or inform a staff member. If it's not too serious, then learn to deal with it. Cussing is all over the media these days to begin with.
Racism This forum is racist free! Everyone is equal. Now, we understand the occasional joke, but no serious racism is allowed. Serious racism can result in an immediate ban.
Religious slurs Jokes are fine so long as no one is seriously offended and understands that you are joking around. Any serious bashing will result in being banned. Now, debates are allowed if they are in the DEBATE section, but this still does NOT entitle anyone to go "This religion sucks", etc.
Bashing Members You will automatically be suspended if you seriously bash a member somewhere on the forum. Inform the member through PM if you have a direct issue with them, rather than bring it to the forum. For those who don't know what bashing is, here's an example. "u suk. i hate u. evrthing u do sux and i think u shuld die." Bad example, but that's basically it. You won't be suspended for a long time though. First bash results in a warning, depending on how bad it is. If you see someone who is bashing others, then please hit the "Report" button in their post. It will inform the staff members that someone is breaking a rule and we will deal with it immediately.
Homosexual slurs Basically same as the religion and racist rules. No saying "fag" and such. The rest, you should know on your own. The same reaction will be held as the religious one. They have equal punishments. Jokes are fine, but you must be warned... Aru you absolutely DETESTS the phrase "That's so gay" and, since Aru is the head admin, it would be wise to avoid saying it, especially since it will not be taken lightly. Why? Because I really don't care, I already know the defense for it. I've heard it all the time and it doesn't make me let people slide in real life either and, since this IS my domain, I cannot promise I will be too kind to you for abusing this rule. (Especially since I had issues on my LAST forum with this rule being followed)
Suspension Suspending will be done if a warning is ignored. The suspension time varies on what rule was broken.
The Pretty Picture Rule Sexual images are not allowed. Kissing is all right, but keep in mind that children may come on this site. Try to keep your images PG13, please. This is talking about signatures, etc.
Aru's a Mama Bird A lot of forums have the state of mind that outside drama stays outside; that when two members bash skulls through IM or on the phone that it has nothing to do with them... but it does. They can ignore the drama and force the members to leave it at the door, but not directing it can ultimately mean losing good members. I don't want to lose my members.
If you EVER feel uncomfortable because of another member on DS, do not hesitate to PM me. You may feel like nothing can be done, but you never know. Besides, I'm willing to bend my own rules. The "Mama Bird" part of this title is BECAUSE I am protective of those I care about and I care about my members. It may be odd for a forum to have such a rule, but I don't care.
I can't say exactly the results of such things. How can I? It depends on how severe it is. But I can say the punishments can vary from a warning to a permanent ban.
I want my members to feel comfortable going on this forum and if that means I have to delete a jerk, so be it.
Double Posting It's not a huge deal and you won't get banned or anything for doing it, but it IS annoying. There are certain sections where I will allow this (such as shops where the owner can double post to show they made the request). Otherwise, the edit button is your friend.
Debate VS Argument Once an insult is thrown out it is no longer a debate. Do not put people down. Do not put the topic down. No "This sucks", that is a put down. You can, obviously, say "I do not agree...". If I have an issue with this, I'll add to the rule.
Sexism Same concept as racism, religious, etc. Whether it's stereotyping or insulting males or females, don't do it. I don't mind it as joke. I don't care what gender you are, EVERYONE IS EQUAL.
The Warning system Warning Suspension Banned
Thank-you, DS | Administration
