Everyone, Guess what? I've got a fever, and the only cure is CREATIVITY. It's time to start meeting again. No structure, no lessons, just comics. Drawing, writing, discussing. Maybe even publishing, but only if that sort of thing interests you. No pressure, just come and have some fun. WHERE: Worlds Collide WHEN: SUNDAYS, 1:00pm - 4:00pm Starting in September, 2011 It's going to be epic, so stay tooned... Nick |

Wooooooooooooooo now I can finally get to work on my crazy new comic ideas. I has atleast 10 new ones that include but are not limited to: A new-stand alone Frog-Girl series in which a young Art-History undergrad after finding herself accidentally mutated by her super-science room mate decides to turn to superheroic's for secure income. Vazzji a story about a young insectoid-alien from Cosmic U whose traveled to earth to write a thesis paper concerning the secrets of love and caring, unfortunately his entire knowledge of earth is based upon horrible pornographic films from the 70s. Poly and The Man, the tale of a high school teacher in his early 30's who encounters and befriends a plastic-like-polymorphic and perpetually bored entity whom he convinces to help him live out his fantasies as a superhero. Think Venom symbiote if the Venom symbiote was the sarcastic results of whacky Nazi-Mad-Science. Prowess, the adventures of a archer heroine who must make the shift from side-kick to full blown hero after her father/mentor is devoured by zombies and she herself is partially zombified. I've also got some ideas concerning a romantic comedy between a Kappa and a Monkey spirit set in the often bizarre realm of the Mountain of Fruit and Flowers. Melancholy-Man whose single super power is the ability to make people feel melancholy, Bruja IV and El Hijo the whacky adventures of a disgraced member of Lucha royalty whom wears a mystical mask which grants her the ability to respawn, (ie. if killed she'll just reappear next to her cooling corpse) and the perpetually optimistic and tiny El Hijo Extrodinare whom dreams of taking on rudos in and outside the ring. Got a couple story ideas for these two and a whole host of other Super-Lucha characters set in the same universe as the above. Oh and some ideas concerning a half-freed Djinn whose previous master should have been a bit more specific when he granted him his freedom. Oh and this street-mage character thingy. Those are just soem quick half-awake descriptions of some of the ideas I've been cookin' up. So uh yeah, meetings. Wooo.... |

Hey gang! Sorry I haven't been at the meetings lately, I've been out of town and also super busy. I did come to last Sunday's meeting, though. While I was there, we discussed two possibilities that will make the meetings a little easier and more heavily attended. One idea was to have the meetings every second week instead of every week. A lot of people can't make it every week, and if there's one every second week there'll be more focus and more people will zero in on that specific day. The other suggestion was that we might move to a coffee shop in the area, specifically Joe Bean's on the corner of Simcoe and Bond, just down the street from World's. It's right downtown, but a lot more pleasant, comfortable, and spacious. The World's guys are very hospitable, but there's just too much activity there on Sundays with the gamers, and even when there isn't we're pretty tight for room. It's just not particularly comfortable. If we meet at Joe's (or another coffee shop) we'll have space and comfort, plus hey, coffee and donuts. And World's is still just down the street. I'll run it by the owner, but we have a good repoire, so I think he'll be cool with it. What do you guys think? If we all meet there next week at least we can discuss the pros and cons and see how it works. |

So, just wanted to let everyone know: we're now meeting on the second and fourth Sundays of every month in Cocoa Joe's (Joe Bean's is closed on Sundays), just down the street from Worlds Collide. It's still 1-3, but it's such a great venue the meetings have been sprawling later. Tomorrow, the 13th, is a meeting, November 27th will be the one after that. Hope you guys can come down! |
