Given Name: Kyoji Tozawa Race: Saiyan Physical Age: Appears early 20s. Actual Age: 25 Hair Color: Dark Brown Eye Color: Dark Grey Skin Complexion: Tanned Alignment: True Neutral Details: Kyoji stands just over 6' tall, and weighs in at just over 200lbs, leaving him a little below average in height and mass for the typical saiyan male. Height and weight, however, does not make a saiyan. He takes much pride in who he is and what he is, and views himself to be a member of the most powerful race in the universe. And what he may lack in body mass, he makes up for in his agility and use of energy. Typically, he keeps his hair short and wears simple clothes for ease in battle. History: An older man walked towards the sparring ring, his tail swaying slowly behind him as he walked. As he reached the side of the ring, he rested his hands on the wooden side, watching the two within. In the ring were two young male saiyans—both in their mid-twenties. They were exchanging blows left and right, dodging and weaving, and were moving faster than most eyes could see. The fight lingered a couple more moments before one fighter seemed to develop a clear advantage. He was moving faster and swinging more, while his opponent was resorting to blocking more and moving less—a clear sign that one was beginning to tire. Soon, the man that had been on the defensive had his legs swept out from under him and was lying flat on his back. His combatant was quick to press two fingers to the fallen man's throat. “I yield!” exclaimed the fallen warrior. With a smirk, his opponent moved his hand, took his opponent's nearest, and helped him to his feet. “It was a good fight as always. But you just need to be faster, Domon.” “Not all of us are so lucky to be of noble birth, Kyoji,” Domon responded. Kyoji sneered at his friend and shook his head in disappointment. “Birth has nothing to do with us. Not anymore, Brother. We've all been here so long that even our king would be an ordinary warrior.” Domon laughed and patted Kyoji on his shoulder. “You're right, I guess. Still, old traditions die hard.” It was then that Domon noticed the man who had been watching them, and he quickly turned and bowed. “Master.” Kyoji looked off to his side and bowed in turn. “Master. How long have you been observing us?” “Long enough,” replied the older saiyan. “Kyoji, the town's elders are looking for you. I believe it's something about another mission in the human lands.” “Another? That's a little strange. There was already a supply trip this month. Aren't we supposed to limit our trips out there?” Kyoji's curiosity was beginning to get the better of him already. Part of him enjoyed the thrill of danger and risk by making trips into the lands of their ancient foe. But a part of him was also wary; he knew each trip carried risk that they may be followed back to their home. And being followed meant it was possible they'd all perish to that damn KDF. “Yes,” the old man said as he stroked his beard. “It's odd that they would preach to limit our time beyond our territory and keep contact with them to a minimum, and then be considering more missions to their lands. I think something must have happened.” “Like what?” Domon was quick to ask. The old saiyan shook his head in answer. “I.. don't quite know. My senses aren't what they used to be, but the past couple days, something felt.. odd. As if a great battle was taking place.” “Battle? On this planet? Most of the humans can't even fly, let alone use energy attacks. What sort of battle could they conduct that you would feel?” Kyoji crossed his arms across his chest. It seemed to make no sense. The humans couldn't be so strong.. could they? Maybe his master's senses were failing worse than they thought they were? That could explain it.. maybe. But there are many times the old man had been right when everyone doubted him. “I suppose we'll see one way or the other. Kyoji, the elders want to see you. You know it's not wise to keep them waiting.” The old man leaned a bit more on the wooden fence as he spoke. “Of course, master.” Kyoji bowed and then stepped toward the ring's exit. “Hey, Kyoji,” Domon added as his friend moved away. “If you keep these trips up, you're going to come back one day with a human girl by your side.” He laughed. Kyoji couldn't help laughing in turn. “The day I do that, Domon, is the day I chop off my own tail.” A few minutes later, Kyoji stepped into the town's central building. Two of the guards immediately approached him, and as a precautionary manner, looked him over. “What brings you here today, Kyoji?” One of them asked. “The elders have summoned me.” He responded simply, knowing better than to be a smart ass with these men. “Did they?” The second guard held up a small display and tapped on its surface a couple times. “It seems they did. We're to admit you upon arrival. Seems they don't want to be kept waiting.” The guard then smirked and waved Kyoji on. “So don't keep them waiting then, Boy.” Kyoji proceeded inward, mumbling to himself. He was slightly irritated by the demeaning manner in which the guard spoke. But then again, he was every time he came here; it seemed like they enjoyed demeaning everyone they could. It was probably boredom, he thought. Soon, he opened the double doors leading into the elders' chamber. It was a tall, round room, with the elders seated several feet above the floor. He walked in and kneeled at a pedestal. “Wise Elders, I have come as you have asked of me.” “Kyoji,” one of the elders spoke in a commanding voice, “we have called you here today for a situation most dire. Our most sensitive warriors and keen instruments have detected something that causes us much concern.” While the Elder spoke, Kyoji kept his head bowed and remained silent, simply listening. “Our instruments measured what seemed to be a large battle in the distance. What surprised us most is that the battle powers of those involved was significant. We do not know if that is a sign that our brothers have returned, or if it is a sign that that the humans are preparing to come for us.” Catching the pause, Kyoji began to lift his head, as if to speak, but he was quickly cut off by the Elder continuing. “Furthermore. We’ve detected signs that the human militaries have increased their activity by a factor of dozens in recent days. Again, this could be a sign of hostility towards us or that our brothers have returned. Either way, we must know.” There, the Elder did pause. Kyoji slowly lifted his head, but kept his eyes lowered as he did. “Honorable Elder.. What would you ask of me?” “It is simple, Kyoji. You have had the most experience of any of our scouts in the human lands. We want you to investigate. While you do, we will begin readying ourselves for battle. Regardless of the outcome, each of us here suspects that we will be in war soon.” Kyoji could only nod at the request. He understood what was being asked—the significance, the urgency, and the odds. It was something that needed to go unsaid. “Then I will be as quick as I can, Honored Elders.” With a nod, the one elder lifted his hand in a gesture of dismissal. Kyoji stood slowly, keeping his eyes lowered, and took several steps back from the elders before he turned around and began to walk out of the building. His feelings and thoughts were mixed. Though he was very much used to going scouting with minimal equipment, this time.. it bothered him, but it also thrilled him at the same time. All he could do was pick up a waist sash from a vendor to hide his tail. And then, he was in for possibly the fight of his life. |
