Oct. 7: In the wake of the beating death of 16-year-old honor student Derrion Albert, Chicago public school officials Wednesday announced a $30 million anti-violence campaign in an effort to put more counselors and social workers in troubled schools. How awful when you can't even be safe being a kid going to school. If it is in a rough area where the kids feel they have no future and nothing to lose and it is their way of life, it will not be easily changed. I don't know what one can do other than move out of such an area. BTW, I deleted your duplicate thread. |

Thanks for deleting my duplicate post Ruum.I tried to do it myself but was unable to do so Yes indeed the numbers in the tapes were staggering. Makes one wonder about when these youngsters get to be adults. A simple thing happened in my neighbourhood. A young teenager was going round stealing gnomes from gardens. Then placing them under parked cars. Even something like that though it may be petty makes one wonder what he will get up to later on in life. |
