Anybody an expert on iPods? I have one - not great capacity but fine for my needs. Had it a year or so but could not get the hang of it but now trying again.

I know it is supposed to shut itself down as there is no 'on-off' switch. The problem is that when I leave it a couple of days then switch on again the battery has gone flat so have to plug it into the pc and leave it to charge up. Surely this should not be? What am I doing wrong here?

if your ipod is like mine you can turn it off by holding the play button in for a lil while then it turns off.

I will be using mine tonight as im off to the Champions League Game at Anfield, LIVERPOOL v REAL MADRID, the music coming in handy on journies but its only 2 hours there

Bit of a plug there for my team lol :-D

Did someone say "iPod"? Depending on the model, you can turn it off as Wayne suggested, but it should turn off itself within a few minutes. Does it actually turn off, or does it stay on? Batteries are a potential problem in many devices. Sometimes lack of use contributes to degrading performance, depending on the battery type. An iPod battery, like any other battery, should definitely last more than a couple of days of non-use before needing to be charged again. Unfortunately, batteries are not user-serviceable in all iPods that I know of. If you are within the warranty period, and it doesn't sound like you are, you could take it back to where you made your purchase. Otherwise, it will possibly cost just as much to have the battery replaced as buying a new one. There are places that replace iPod batteries, maybe the place where you bought it from can make a suggestion. Good luck, Hoggy.

Hoggy's probably been fiddling inadvertantly and set it to "never" switch off or power down :ha:

As my late father used to say, Hoggy, if all else fails, read the instructions. :p
