OK. - It wasn`t easy and both large male offspring were sat playing PC games and just turned and looked and said `You won`t do it - it`s too difficult !`
So-o-o ! to confound them and prove them wrong I unplugged the old dishwasher and connected up the new second hand one (Bought off `Stuff 4 Sale ) and cramped up under the worktop I managed to undo the blue water supply tube (getting water all over the floor which wet my jogging `trussies` through.) Never mind I could change them later , Very inaccessible but I managed it with alot of cussing. then the drainage tube which wasn`t too bad . I manouvered the `new ` dishwasher into place and connected up the water supply with finger and thumb and turned the water supply on. I mopped up the floor and hoped the spilled water hadn`t permanently damaged my lino interlock flooring that I had laid over 3yrs. ago. I manouvered the machine into the space under the worktop and connected up the power and turned it on and set the cycle for a `wash plates` setting (It`s a Hotpoint ). Loaded up the machine and popped in a tablet ,closed the door and clicked it on , and `Bingo` it worked. . Big sons shouted through from the Sun Lounge - `What`s that whirring noise Dad.` and it chuffed me to little pink pills to reply ` Oh it`s only the new dishwasher. Carry on with your games.`
So - `I dunnit` and thankyou Dolphin for that for that website , I`ll have a look later.
I have to see where I can get a secondhand chest freezer now.
I had to have mussels for supper last evening as they would have gone off due to the chest frezer packing up . My youngest son prepared the meal and he did a very good job and the sauce was particularly nice.
He`s going to uni. in September to study Human Nutrition - he`s already completed a course at college on catering and hospitality.
I prefer mussells in white wine like we had in France once but Michael did them in cocoanut milk and a mild curry powder and it was OK.

Try googling Freecycle, Bunky. See if you can find a link to a site in your area regarding a free chest freezer.

I bought mine for under a ton from Curry's (speaking of curry), or somewhere. Small chest freezer with no annoying drawers. Keeps me stocked up ready for a nuclear crisis xD

If you get bored and want me to phone you at any time, you know I'll be happy to chat for a good half-hour to keep you from an even worse fate than my natterin'!!! :) ;)

I am very late in joining in this post but I have a need to make a reply even tho it has moved on rather quickly. So as I read I will add to my reply so bare with me please.

Bunky ~ I know exactly what you are talking about!!! I used to be a traveling peson and been to Canada several times. I went over 300 miles just to attend an internet party as well as go to Chicago and other states just for the fun of it as well as meet internet friends. Now I am hardly out of my apartment!!! I hurt all the times in one place or another plus a little cold or flu that most people get over real quick puts me to bed for days at a time. I can also relate to the better get to the loo fast or look out part. I have had to take a bath often cause I didn't make it in time. It really sucks to suddenly wake up to the fact that one gets to be as you put elderly and and frail. I am glad that at least you can get up and play your games where I can't sit up long enough at times to even do that. All I can do is lay in bed and read or on the couch to read and watch the telly. With the medicines I am on I can't even have any alcoholic beverage!!! I am so very sorry about your cancer and lost of sexual potency as well as the fact that the procedure on your heart has not worked. As for the processing machine part, I am so sure that to your lovely wife you are much more that that. On my part, Hawk is very loving and understanding so he is very supportive. My dear friend you have a very sharp mind and your way with words when telling your rememberance is fantastic. You are very loved and still have a lot to give so please don't think of ending your days as that would be too great of a lost to those who love you. Please think about writing a book on your experiences. I have some of the things you wrote in the old cafe and will add them to the new cafe as soon as I can have the energy. One thing that I have notice is that my body got old but the mind still thinks young and wants to do things which I can't do. I often relive the days of being young and the things I have done and that does bring me some kind of comfort. Bunky, the times are gone but you can relive them all by thinking of those days. I have the same wish to be able to do some of the things I was not able to do, like go to England, and the hardest part is like you, I know that the things I have done is all I am going to do and remember them. My traveling days are over and the indian in me is protesting to the max.
Way to go on a job well done with installing the dishwasher. I find it a chore nowadays just to load it up and unload it when done but here you go installing one in Wow. It has been several days since the water went on your floor so I am wondering if there permanent damage to your floor?
