Wereleopards
-ranks-

Wereleopards are the quickest and most agile shifter. Wereleopards are skilled in the art of stealth where they seem to blend into the shadows around them and strike from no where. Yet at the same time, no shifter is without its short comings. For the most part, wereleopards lack the strength of most other shifters. They pride themselves in the art of the sneak attack and stalking, not pure brute strength which many see no need for.

Other attributes to this race is their need for touch. It isn't uncommon for felines to greet one another with a touching of the foreheads or brush of the lips. It is seen as a sign of respect when a dominant is concerned. Emotions are also something most felines are known to keep tucked away. They feel them, just like any other race, perhaps even more than any other. But felines most often don't wear these emotions on their sleeves. A defense mechanism to many.

Werebears
-ranks-

Werebears, the tanks of the shifter world, are the undoubted strongest. Their power makes it obvious as to how their existence became myth as such strength seems beyond subhuman. Their greatest weakness however is the fact that they are also the slowest. Their bodies, when in its shifted form, pay more attention to muscle mass rather than agility and speed. Still, when done right these weaknesses matter little to them.

They are also a rather patient race and highly optimistic. It isn't uncommon for a werebear to have high spirits even in a dangerous/sever situation as their outlook is almost always a positive one. This makes them ideal parents and teachers. Also they tend to seek comfort in certain surroundings that appeal to them, this is mainly true in pregnant women.

Werehyenas
-ranks-

Werehyenas are the more intellectual and cunning of the races. They lack in speed and strength, but their high IQ's more than make up for it. With their signature laugh that often causes hairs to rise on the back of necks, werehyenas are no stranger to coming up with intricate plans to get what they need. They survivors in the strictest sense, making them formidable foes since they are unpredictable and fiercely determined.

They have a strange sense of humor which at times only they find amusing. Perceptive they pick up on detail that others may miss, making them apt pupils. As long as its in their best interest, were hyenas will follow orders and do as their told. And at the same time emit a great sense of uncertainty that leaves many looking over their shoulder.

Werewolves
-ranks-

Werewolves are a strong and agile race. Though they are not as strong as a bear or as quick as a feline, the canines are quite resilient. Excellent hunters, they are no stranger to working as a whole for a common purpose, making team work almost instinct to them. They are also the most sensitive to the pull of the full moon, feeling it days in advance.

They are rather territorial shifters and if any conflict arises within, it is most often about territory or property. Werewolves are also very loyal and Dominants will at times fight the battles of a submissive if they feel akin to protect them.

Hunters
Hunters, the 'trump cards' of Miami, are often viewed as the threats that most preternaturals refuse to take serious -- many seeing them as nothing more than mere cattle for the picking, for what can a human really do against a lycanthrope or a vampire? It is, perhaps, these thoughts that matter very little to the Hunters for there are some so skilled in their trade that they make taking the life of those creatures that are not human look as if it's mere childs play.

Most hunters come from an intense background that gives them a degree of experience in combat. Whether it's with specific weapons combat or just hand to hand combat, these backgrounds range from military knowledge to experienced contract killers. Lumping these 'special' humans into one group, however, has its advantages.

Hunters are hardly super human beings. They have no degree of heightened strength, or speed. There are some, however, that have learned to turn their adrenaline into a weapon and use it in trade with hand to eye coordination, giving them slightly faster reflexes. Though these hunters are very rare, and it takes years of experience and training.

Shifter Quick Facts

ξ Fighting and Challenges within the shifter races aren't uncommon. When a challenge is made it can be about dominance where the winner will thus prove they have earned the respect over the other. Or it can be about possessions, even mates. A shifter can challenge another for the right to take their mate. It is an old tradition/ritual, that is hard to break.

ξ Shifters are not immortal though they do age slowly, however this does not mean that an char that is 80 would look 20, be a bit realistic people.

ξ They have three forms, their human one, their half human half beast form (the hardest to acquire), and their full lupine form. Some call their last form their true form.

ξ During a full moon all shifters change. Shifters can also change without the help of the moon and need to at certain time since they need to release their 'beast' for a short time.

ξ All shifters are allergic to silver. If cut with the metal it will take longer to heal

ξ Only male shifters carry the shifting gene, making it so that offspring will always be what the father is. For example if the Father of a child is a Hyena and the Mother a Wolf, there offspring will be Hyenas, same goes for if the Father is human, all offspring will be human.
