Player Rules/Guidelines
- Keep RPing fun - This board was made for pure entertainment and fun therefore if you have any problems that arise between you and another player or even a staff member, please either attempt to work it out amongst yourselves or get a staff member to moderate/help solve the problem. For a lot of us RPing is a bit of a hobby, something we do in our down time. Fighting, squabbling, and anything else just as juvenile has no place here.
- Make sure your portrayal actually fits the character you make - I don't see this becoming too much of a problem, still, please be mindful when you choose an actor/actress, model or whoever to be the face of your character. Paris Hilton probably won't be a werewolf, and Ashley Tisdale won't be an almighty vampire mistress.
- Quality over Quantity - I don't need novels as far as posts go. Sometimes when emphasis is put on the amount of paragraphs etc it slows your character down and you miss out on a great deal of development trying to always pump out those six paragraph posts. Now I don't want any one liners, but as long as its quality writing, length doesn't matter.
- Applications - We ask that you use the coding we have provided in order to fill out the applications. We took the time to make this coding so it will be easier and less work for you, as well as to make everyone's application stay similar. Any application that has been posted in the Apply Within forum that is a work in progress has a maximum of three days to be completed before it is archived. Take note, that if you already know that you will not be able to finish your application within that time, you should not post it until you can finish it. There will be no exceptions to this rule.
- Posting Form - This board is played in third person. That means that when you post your application, or in a thread, the terms used should be he, she, they, them, their, her, him, it, not I. We have found that threads with first person tend to be confusing so we ask that you please not use this method of writing.
- PBs - Five day reservations only for a model while working on the application. We understand that an application can take time, but if you feel that you will take more then a few days to do it, wait before requesting for a model's face to be put on hold until you are near completion of your application. When it comes to reserving, we ask that you only reserve for yourself, not another player. This will prevent any confusion that could occur later and the information will come straight from that player, not another source.
- Ranks - For those who wish to apply for a scout or teacher rank, we ask that you have four completed threads before a character can apply for any of the ranks. For the leaders and second-in-command, you will need six completed threads. This will show us you are active and give us a great view of your character's interaction with others, along with their qualities. Those who currently hold high ranks must post twice a week. We are open to giving these positions to members of the board and we do not wish to see it fall to the waste side since other members will wish to play with your character do to the position they hold and as a leader, they should be the most active on the board. There will be no exceptions to this rule
- Posting Characters - To be considered active, you must post each character at least once every ten to fourteen days. Whether you have one or multiple characters. Members who do not post a character within fifteen days will be archived unless they have a leave of absence that was posted in the absence thread or an emergency that they have given us as the Staff a heads up on.
- Multiple Characters - Your are allowed to have up to four characters on the board. Though before you apply for another character you must at least have 10 IC posts or two completed threads with the last character you've made before your application will be accepted.
- Sign On Names - We would like you to get creative with them. It could be two words that describe your character, or one word that shows what he or she likes. If you can, do not put their first and last name. Please create one sign on name for each character you have. This means we do not want to see two characters being played from the same account unless it is the NPC one, which the staff have control over to add more depth to a story.
- Avatars and Signatures are welcome - I only ask that signatures be no bigger than 450x175, and avatars no bigger than 150x150.
Character Rules/Guidelines
Character Age
All characters on CC must be at least 18 years or older. Since its a mature themed board it only makes sense to have chars that are legal in age. The only other age rule is that Vampires must be below 300 years of age. If you wish for them to be older then you must get an admin approval prior to your applying or we reserve the right to deny the app.
GodModding
Godmodding is forbidden. Do not attempt to control another characters actions. You cannot inflict wounds or kill without the consent of the other player.
Player Deaths
Killing another person's character without permission is forbidden. If your character does die, there is no coming back for them.
Mature Content
Since the whole basis of the board is mature themes, and since you must be 18 or older to join, there really is no limit as to what your character can say or do. My only rule is that there is to be no Pedophilia of any kind. Please don't abuse this rule and let sexual threads be the only reason you've joined.
Character Ages and Abilities
None of the characters on the board are supremely powerful. However, their age may define there abilities and control over those said abilities. For example someone who is 21 and recently turned is not going to have as much control as someone who is 40 and has been a preternatural for most of their life. It's just a bit of common sense I suppose.
