1. Purpose: The purpose for Crimewatchers is to be a support and information forum for victims, families or those who are interested in helping others.

2. Hijacking: Hijacking happens, we all know that, but lets try to keep on track. By and large we are likely to be less strict on this in the off-topic area, but, if it gets out of hand a moderator will step in and either get the topic back on track or close it for review.

3. Spam, Pornography & Advertising: Spamming the board is strictly prohibited and any spam posts, as well as the poster will be deleted immediately. Pornography of any kind, including links to outside pornographic sites is also very strictly prohibited. And as with spam will be immediately deleted. We only allow advertising to the extent of allowing members to have links to their own sites (ie: Myspace, DeviantArt, Facebook, or a personal website) in their signatures. Any other advertising on the board will be deleted.

4. Issues with Other Members: If you have a problem with another member, please contact a moderator or administrator. Before contacting staff, please take a moment to step back and look at what has been posted. Decide if you're reading what the other member is saying correctly. Oftentimes if it's a volatile subject will create heated posts. Make sure that you aren't reading too much into what someone is saying.

5. Free Speech & Flaming: While we DO accept free speech here, no one has the absolute right to say anything they wish, we ask that you respect others rights and opinions as you want them to respect yours. There is also NO flaming on this board. We are here for support, not to put people down. Having a difference of opinion is one thing, personal attacks are completely another. And if one member attacks another said member will either be put on mod approval, suspended or banned, depending on the severity.

6. Privacy: We take member privacy VERY seriously. This is one of our highest priorities. Please do not post any personal information such as full name, address, phone number or e-mail address on the board. If you choose to give someone personal information through the PM system or via another route, you must be responsible for yourself.

7. Posting Information: We have a section on this board for cyberstalking and internet crime. While we do allow that messenger ID's [ONLY the messenger ID. Some messengers, such as MSN use a full e-mail address as a chat ID, PLEASE be sure you are only using the abcd out of abcd@msn or abcd@hotmail] and usernames of perpetrators be posted, we do not allow their full names, addresses, phone numbers or full e-mail addresses to be posted. This is for legal reasons, as we do not want any staff or members to get in trouble.

These are the guidelines for Crimewatchers. We, as staff, reserve the right to ammend or add to these guidelines at any time, depending on the needs of the forum and it's members.
