Taylor spent his BDay in style last night! He sat in with the Allman Brothers and is listed as harmonica on one song at this site:

Go Tay!

Here is a comment from an Allman Brothers Fan site by BamaBluesBoy :

It was great to hear the Brothers play, Stand Back & Can’t Loose What You Never Had. Oteil singing on Anyday was pretty cool too. I much prefer the faster version of Same Thing though. Taylor Hicks did a great job blowing harp on You Don’t Love Me.

These are good times for Taylor : He seems to be making the most of his 'Bama R & R !!!

Here is more on it:

Taylor Hicks Welcomes the Allman Brothers Band to Alabama

Last night both the Allman Brothers Band and Phil Lesh & Friends appeared at Birmingham, AL’s Verizon Wireless Music Center. While Lesh and the founding members of the Allman Brothers Band have passed in the night, at yesterday’s performance Gregg Allman did welcome a special guest onto the stage. Partway through the group’s set, Alabama hero/American Idol champ Taylor Hicks emerged to play harmonica with the ensemble on “You Don't Love Me.” Hicks grew up on the Allman Brothers’ music and has appeared with the band numerous times since scoring international fame. The Allman Brothers and Phil Lesh & Friends will both appear at Orange Beach, AL’s The Amphitheatre at the Wharf this evening.

Taylor, appearing during a scheduled concert, with a well known band ,as a special guest, for one song ,that was a suprise visit, at a large venue is a wonderful opportunity for him to shine.

Pardon the multiple prepositional phrases, but this was the shortest way to make my point. An appropriate time to applaud Taylor !!!!

I am not a fan of the Allman Brothers , but I guess , I am not a fan of any singers who do not sound like Taylor Hicks. I am shallow, narrow minded and inflexible in my musical tastes. LOL

I saw a set list on the Allman Brothers site for Orange Beach, and it didn't say Taylor Hicks anywhere and I don't think I saw "You Don't Love Me," on that set list. So no clue if he was there or not. Would have been cool for those who got to attend, though, if he was there again.
