GIANT Center Grand Opening!

The GIANT Center is a multi-purpose arena in Hershey, Pennsylvania, in the Harrisburg metropolitan area. It is home to the Hershey Bears ice hockey team, the longest-existing member club in the American Hockey League, joining the league in 1938. GIANT Center replaced the Hersheypark Arena as the Bears' home in 2002.

In addition to Bears games, the arena also hosts an annual concert series and attracts many well-known acts. The GIANT Center opened its doors with a performance by Cher bringing her “Living Proof – The Farewell Tour” to the brand new venue and has since hosted acts ranging from 50 Cent to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, to Drew Carey's Comedy Tour, professional ice shows, family events, and special attractions like Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, the Harlem Globetrotters, Disney On Ice, Stars On Ice, and the Blue Man Group. Several conventions make yearly stops here as well, notably the Pennsylvania RV & Camping Show, the auction of the Antique Automobile Club of America's Fall Meet. In 2003, the GIANT Center held WWE Unforgiven.

The GIANT Center is owned by the Derry Township Municipal Authority, as much of the money for its construction was provided by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It is operated by Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company, with the naming rights owned by the GIANT Food grocery store chain based in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. In 2007 the Giant Center Food and Beverage Department finalized a deal with PepsiCo, with all food and drink stands in the building switched from Coca-Cola products to Pepsi products. The switch was made to equalize operations with the rest of the Hershey Entertainment Complex.

SOUL PATROL MEMORIES:

Then Taylor came out!!!! It was like Beatlemania. Everyone was screaming and shouting his name and of course his Jail House Rock was tearing the house down. He is so handsome and as talented as the other Idols are: Taylor stands above. ,......I go to a lot of Concets and no Artist has ever made me feel this way. He stands tall above the rest, liteally and figuratively, he can sing, dance, play the guitar and man he was so awesome on the harmonica. To top off the talent he has a wonderful sense of humor coupled with graciousness. When he danced the crowd went nuts. Whoever thought Taylor should tone the dancing down was sooooooo wrong. I was trying to put my finger on what it is that makes Taylor one of a kind: the talent the personality and of course he is drop dead gorgeous. But what makes Taylor stand apart from the rest: is SOUL. He had that cute smile when he was singing and the crowd was going wild. You could see it in his eyes that he was so happy to be living his dream. " Its about the music, man."
.....
I ran into a mother and daughter wearing Soul patrol - Taylor shirts. The young lady had down's syndrome; she was so cute and when I started to walk away, she pulled on my T-shirt and said, " I want you to tell Taylor I think he's cute." I told her I wish I could.

.... Just remember how much Taylor blew us away during his Idol performances? Well mutliply that by 100 times. Tht is how awesome he is in person. He is SPECIAL.

He then said Thanks so much for coming and for having all the Idols there, was very gracious, and exited through his little "tarap door" on stage. .... The audience didn't die down for a second. We only got louder, anticipatig Taylor's return. This was the loudest the crowd was all night. ....It was just deafening screaming. Thunderous clappping. Us in the floor sections started pounding our metal chairs. ... I could only think, WOW , Taylor is back stage listening to this, listening to how bad we want him to come back out for us. I know it has to still floor him. ..... "Taking It To the Streets" ... from the dancing to his singing and shouting out to the crowd. When he started blowing the harmonica, the place went CRAZY. Can't describe this scene.....
it was "Soul Convulsions:.
