August 6, 2006 St. Pete Forum 401 Channelside Dr. Tampa, FL33602 PROFIT: 15,221 GATE : $823,340 RECEIPTS SEATING CAPACITY: 20,000 ![]() ST. PETE FORUM: ![]() The St. Pete Times Forum is located in Tampa, Florida, and is used for a number of different events on a regular basis. Since opening in 1996 this venue has become well known for its top of the line features and amenities, as well as the great atmosphere that it provides to the fans. It is safe to say that the St. Pete Times Forum is only going to continue to grow in the years to come. There are two primary tenants of the St. Pete Times Forum. They include the Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL, and the Tampa Bay Storm of the AFL. Both of these teams began to play their home games at the St. Pete Times Forum in the year that it opened. The capacity of this venue is one reason that it has become so popular. For basketball games the St. Pete Times Forum has a capacity of 20,500. For hockey the capacity is 19,758, and for concerts 21,500. While this may not be quite as large as some others, it is among the tops in the country for venues of this size. The building has played host of many events over the years including several WWF events, the 1999 NHL All Star Game, and the opening two rounds of the 2003 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. For future years, the St. Pete Times Forum is scheduled to host the 2008 NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four, and the 2012 NCAA Hockey Frozen Four. And this does not even touch on the hundreds of musical performers who have played at the St. Pete Times Forum. With so much to offer in way of benefits and fan experience, it is easy to see why the St. Pete Times Forum has become one of the nicest and most popular venues in the country. Silverman Originally posted Friday August 04, 2006 08:20 AM EDT Taylor Hicks All he needs is a movie and Taylor Hicks could be the new King of All Media. He's conquered TV – winning American Idol – and music – he had a hit with his single "Do I Make You Proud" – and now Hicks, 29, has inked a deal to write a book. The New York Post reports that Random House's Crown imprint paid Hicks an estimated $750,000 advance for the memoir, which, according to Hicks's agent, Alan Nevins, will be ghost written by David Wild, whose work has appeared in Rolling Stone. The book, Heart Full of Soul, should hit shelves in spring 2007, the Post reports. In it, Hicks, once a struggling singer in Alabama clubs, will chronicle the obstacles he overcame on his road to success. Rounding out Hicks's multimedia presence, the singer – already a pitchman in Ford TV commercials – will appear alongside fellow Idols from Alabama Ruben Studdard (another winner) and Bo Bice (a finalist) on a new billboard from the state's Bureau of Tourism and Travel. The billboards will feature photos of the three and the message, "Where America finds its voice. Alabama," the Associated Press reports. Alabama tourism director Lee Sentell said that six billboards "will go up shortly before the American Idol auditions begin in Birmingham on Aug. 21" and be displayed for four months. The FOX talent show will hold its first-ever auditions in Birmingham, with 10,000 to 15,000 hopefuls expected to try out. SOUL PATROL MEMORIES: ![]() edoubleislifexo Wow, it was amazing. I got there around 1:40 and I got to the gate where the busses go and there were some people there, I wated for 20 minutes and the busses came. . I waited by that side and Taylor came over and signed my shirt and I took a picture with him and shook his hand. After the show I went to the busses and was talking to an Ace fan and some Taylor fans. Melissa from top 12 was there by the busses, but then left. Everyone was screaming Idols names but none of them came out, They never came out but Elliott and Taylor were waving out the window when the busses left. Oh, and Corey Clark was there on the street selling his CD. All in all, yesterday was incredible and I couldn't of asked for a better day cath Floor seats and the opportunity to touch Taylor's hand as he entered singing "Jailhouse Rock"..... the band was so loud and the crowd so loud that Taylor's voice was often drowned out, but just seeing him in person was a treat. The day was hot and muggy, but it was COOL COOL COOL inside . |
