In my mind I'm going to Carolina
can't you see the sunshine
can't you just feel the moon shining
ain't it just like a friend of mine
to hit me from behind
and I'm going to Carolina in my mind

REVIEW:

The Grey Eagle Review: Taylor's after show performance:
By SG

So you didn't get into the sold out show by American Idol winner Taylor Hicks at the Orange Peel. Did you sit home and pout about it, or were you one of the twenty-eight people who came to hang out at the Grey Eagle after the Tea Leaf Green show? If you were in the later category, you were treated to an impromtu (free) 45 minute set by Taylor and The Greyhounds, including Supertramps' "Goodbye Stranger," "New York State of Mind," "Minute by Minute," and Elton Johns' "Levon" and "Border Song." Not only was the Eagle open until 3 AM, but it became a smoking bar for two hours. Crazy....If you're in the former category, you'd probably need pictures to believe it, huh? I never thought you'd ask....in response to all the comments, this was not planned; the guys just came by to hang out with some friends and ended up on stage for part of their stay. They were all very pleasant and glad to play music for the small crowd.

SOUL PATROL MEMORIES:

1. miva.citizen-times.

I remember looking at Paul, and questioning why the band was all crammed in the back and around the sides of the stage (I counted six members, but I couldn’t see behind the drums, and there might have been another person back there) and then there was a wide, open space at the front of the stage. Taylor likes to move. And, I mean, really move. He was ALL OVER the place! Video wasn’t so fun with him standing right over me.

The place to see the show was definitely from the back. We were up front for the first three songs, and then moved on back, where the sound was better and I wouldn’t pass out. Oh, and I found out that by the fourth song, the Orange Peel had two fainters. Yep, two people fell (literally) for Taylor.

All in all, a good show. Taylor Hicks puts on a great show, and he does have talent, despite what Simon Cowell or media outlets have to say about his record sales. I’m sure that if every fan who attended his shows would buy one CD at the shows during this tour, he’d make the record label’s goal.

2. Quite an exciting show...2 ladies fainted!(lol, they fell at his feet! They recovered and are ok so no harm done). Hicks brought the crowd to a fever pitch. All ages in attendance.
I respect this guy both as a showman and a musician. Hicks gives the audience his whole heart and soul. Does what a true musician should do...leaves it all on the stage. Surrounds himself with a great band and a sweet back-up singer. Interesting mixture of a tight band that can let loose and jam. Good to see respect and appreciation in abundance between an artist and his audience.

3. LL
He never stops moving and after talking about it with some people who had been around more I was watching for how he signals the band. It's awesome, Taylor really owns the stage, have never seen anything like him. And yeah he's gorgeous too but there are lots of those around. This guy is what todays crappy sounds all alike music business needs - A REAL SINGER who isn't afraid to put it all out there

Extremely generous performer.

I attended the conflagration that was Taylor Hicks and his band at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC. Took my breath away.
DO NOT miss this show - Hicks' unbelieveable energy fuels the band and the reciprocal heat sets the crowd on fire!
