You long tall woman you sure don't have to talk
A long legged good lookin' thing you don't have to talk
I can tell that you're from Nashville
You do boogie woogie wiggle when you walk
You long tall woman you sure don't have to talk...

THE RYMAN:

HOWDY !!!

Posted ImageMinnie Pearl and Roy Acuff

The Ryman Auditorium first opened its doors in 1892 as a vision of Captain Thomas G. Ryman. With the coming of the Grand Ole Opry show in 1943, the Ryman found its identity as the Mother Church of Country Music. In 1974, the Opry moved to its current home by the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center and left the Ryman vacant. It was not until twenty years later in 1994 that the Ryman was restored to be the national showplace that it is today. Musicians ranging from Roy Acuff to James Brown and Patsy Cline to Sheryl Crow have performed on the Ryman stage, making it a historical as well as a current-day icon for people everywhere.

SOUL PATROL MEMORIES:

1.
5 stars - original - energetic - had a blast. I had gone to see his show in Huntsville ( which was great ) 2 nights before so expected a repeat of the same when a friend invited me to the Nashville show. Some repeat songs but he mixed up the set with several different ones and his delivery and performance was different too. Discussed his show with a friend in Birmingham who got a totally re-mixed ( and great ) show. Now would love to see him again knowing that every show is different. You cannot appreciate this guy until you see him in person. posted by fae

I thought last night that this show was really Taylor coming full circle. And so performing "Will the Circle be Unbroken", which is THE song for the Opry in what was the original home of the Opry - and is still considered a very special place in the country music industry - couldn't have been more perfect. After that year and a half he spent in Nashville unsuccessfully knocking on doors and playing gigs around town 10 years ago, he was able to return as a platinum selling artist, playing to a sold out crowd at the Ryman. It may have taken him a little longer than he planned on, but he's made it now. by wildrosegirl76
