Way down in Missouri where I learned this lullaby, When the stars were blinkin' and the moon was climbin' high, Seems I hear voices low, as in days long ago, Singin' hush-a-bye. Missouri by J.R. Shannon St. Charles, MO SOLD OUT! SETLIST: Gonna Move Heaven Knows The Maze - Rough God Goes Riding ( Van Morrison ) Wherever I Lay My Hat - Nightshift ( The Commodores ) - Tupelo Honey ( Honey Cones ) Dream Myself Awake Young Turks ( Rod Stewart ) Heart and Soul Hold on to Your Love - Dust My Broom - Banana Boat Song (Harry Belafonte) Just to Feel that Way Soul Thing Going Mobile The Right Place Goodbye Stranger Encore: Angel from Montgomery (John Prine, Bonnie Raitt) SOUL PATROL MEMORIES : courtesy of strawgirl1. I went to the St. Charles concert on Thursday night -- I couldn't take my eyes off of watching Taylor's every move. He was just mesmerizing. His vocals were perfection. I loved watching the interraction between him and his band. They all watch Taylor so intently because they never know what he is going to do next. He cues them on a split-seconds notice and they never miss a beat. Each member of the band is a top professional in their own right. And Taylor gives each of them props during the concert giving them a solo turn. Taylor was born to be on the stage to make people happy. He leaves you wanting more. His acoustic encore was beyond thrilling. Taylor is such a fun, energetic, exciting entertainer. Taylor lives to make people happy. 2. Exciting performer in person! Songs from his album are great, and when Taylor does a cover he claims it as his own. Appreciated that he did not have an opening act at this club. Taylor is an experienced musician and performer and can easily fill a show with passion, energy and strong vocals. Very likeable entertainer who cares about giving his audience a great show. At times he got so intense and deeply into the music, it was like he became the music. He's complex on stage, wish I could describe this better. But if I can't describe the experience more articulately I can without reservation recommend Hicks and his band. From what I saw they can do just about any genre. Excellent show. courtesy of strawgirl3. 1 1/2 hours of pure acoustic joy in an initimate venue ! One of the best concerts I've been to so far. The Encore alone was worth the price of the ticket. Taylor made Bonnie Rait proud with is outstanding rendition of Angel From Montgomery. He should record this in his next album. Overall a very worthwhile night and money well spent. |
