In the episode, singing coach Jackie Walker (Porter) is at the height of his career, with a featured role on television's biggest reality show, "American Diva," and a steady position teaching music at a prestigious New York City school.

As the case becomes public, more and more victims come forward, but Walker refuses to come clean. Also guest starring Jessica Phillips (ADA Pippa Cox), Hana Hayes (Brooke Allen), Kara Hayward (Rachel Burns), Carly Rose Sonenclar (Grace Belsey), David Pittu (Counselor Linus Tate) and Bill Irwin (Dr. Lindstrom).

Created by Emmy Award-winning producer Dick Wolf, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," now in its fifteenth season, is the longest-running Primetime drama currently on television. This hard-hitting and emotional series from NBC's "Law & Order" brand chronicles the life and crimes of the Special Victims Unit of the New York City Police Department, an elite squad of detectives who investigate sexually based crimes.

Dedicated Detective Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), a seasoned veteran of the unit who has seen it all, heads up the department with empathy and professionalism, all the while dealing with her difficult past - as a product of rape and a witness to her mother's grief, she can personally relate to each victim she tries to help.

3. "American Idol" alumni Clay Aiken and Taylor Hicks and singer Ashanti play themselves as judges on a singing contest on the Nov. 6 episode "Law & Order: SVU."

The trio filmed their scenes at Manhattan's Hudson Theater, where the singers were playing judges in an Idol-like show. They are wowed when "X Factor" Season 2 runner-up Carly Rose Sonenclar sings.

In the below clip, which you can see exclusively on Zap2it, the singers talk about how they would be as judges.

"Some of us are really judgmental," Hicks jokes.

Ashanti talks about being a big fan of "SVU" and plugs her upcoming album.

Were she a judge on a talent contest, Ashanti says, "I would be the nice one, and love and constructive criticism."

Aiken, however, wonders if he could be too critical, if "I could do that to a fellow singer."

Carly Rose Sonenclar, Taylor Hicks, Clay Aiken – Law & Order SVU
By mj

Some of our favorite competitive reality show stars will be appearing on the Wednesday, November 6 episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

The SUV series of the Law & Order franchise focuses on solving and prosecuting sex crimes. The episode, titled “Dissonant Voices” is another “ripped from the headlines” plot. In this case, A singing coach (played by Broadway star, Billy Porter) and featured player of a popular competition reality show is accused of abusing his students. Carly Rose Sonenclar, 14 year old X Factor 2 alum, will play a character named Grace Belsey, who, I assume, is a victim of some sort.

American Idol alums, Taylor Hicks (winner Season 5), Clay Aiken (runner-up Season 2) and singer, Ashanti, play themselves as judges on the fictional singing show called American Diva. Sound familiar?

Sounds suspiciously like the case of the beloved UK presenter, Jimmy Savile, who abused children for years and got away with it. His crimes, however, didn’t come to light until after he died in 2011 at age 84. I have a feeling the SUV predator will live to pay the price.

Taylor Hicks' fans would be happy to watch him dance the tango, flambé a duck, build a tribal alliance or create a marketing plan for Donald Trump.

When the 2006 "American Idol" winner returns to network TV, however, he'll be putting a twist on his reality past. Hicks, 37, will appear on the Nov. 6 episode of NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," playing one of three judges on a fictional singing competition.

Clay Aiken, another "Idol" veteran, and R&B singer Ashanti complete the judging troika for "American Diva," a show rocked by scandal and allegations of sexual abuse. In true "SVU" style, Det. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) is determined to uncover the truth, even if her investigation ruins the career of a popular singing coach (played by Broadway star Billy Porter).

With this role, Hicks, an Alabama native, makes his debut on a dramatic series. The episode, called "Dissonant Voices," airs at 8 p.m. CST.

"I loved it," he said. "For the last year, I've been working with acting coaches and auditioning for scripted television. I got my feet wet with this, and I'm a big fan of 'Law & Order' to begin with. I was thrilled when they asked me to play a small part on one of their shows."

Although he's spent most of this year performing at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, Hicks took a few days off for the location shoot in New York City.

He learned a handful of lines for three scenes -- "enough to make me nervous," Hicks said -- and spent about 14 hours on the set. He didn't have the opportunity to interact with longtime cast members such as Hargitay or Ice-T; Hicks said he spent most of his time with his fellow guest stars.
"Because Clay and I come from the TV world, we know what it's like," Hicks said. "We also understand what a struggling artist goes through on a primetime network talent competition. Clay might be one of the hardest-working guys who's ever come off ('American Idol'). I admire his work ethic. He knows what it takes to stay relevant after that show. Ashanti was great, too. We all had a wonderful time."

Hicks said he hopes to make more TV appearances in 2014, but he's not willing to jump into just anything. His skill set and performing schedule are key considerations, not to mention his sense of artistic integrity.

"'Wipeout' is definitely not on the books," Hicks said. "Nor is the celebrity diving show."

AMERICAN IDOL Winner Taylor Hicks to Appear on NBC's LAW & ORDER: SVU

Taylor Hicks, one of the most beloved American Idol winners of all-time, will appear on NBC's hit show, "Law & Order: SVU" on Wednesday, November 6th (9:00PM). Also on the show are American Idol runner-up, Clay Aiken and R&B singer, Ashanti.

From the start, Hicks' material on the mega-hit show set him apart, with a unique take on Southern soul, R & B, country and blues. More than 63 million votes were cast and nearly 37 million viewers tuned-in to crown Hicks the Season 5 winner of AMERICAN IDOL, making it one of the most-watched TV events of the decade.

Hicks' star continued to rise after he stepped off the IDOL stage. Less than three weeks after his IDOL victory, his debut single, "Do I Make You Proud," entered at #1 on Billboard's Hot 100, Pop 100, and Single Sales Charts. Coinciding with the single's release, a cover story named him People magazine's "Hottest Bachelor of the Year." His self-titled album (Arista), debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 and was quickly certified RIAA Platinum.

On Broadway, Hicks starred in the hit musical, GREASE as Teen Angel, and when asked to join the national tour, happily agreed. The 18-month tour connected him with fans across America.

In June 2012, Taylor Hicks began his residency at Bally's Las Vegas. As a testament to his musical talent and showmanship, Hicks will continue to bring the roadhouse to the Las Vegas Strip with a year-long extension through 2013 at a larger venue, Paris Las Vegas, making him the first Idol winner to secure a long term residency in Las Vegas. Hicks has rapidly become one of the most popular acts in the city. He will have an exclusive commitment to Caesars Entertainment, bringing his soulful ballads to Caesars properties across the country throughout the year.

He is currently in studio working on his first country album.

Taylor Hicks on His 'SVU' Role, Playing a Talent Show Judge and His Country Record

by Michele Amabile Angermiller

The reality alumni will join Ashanti as judges on a fictional singing show for Tuesday's episode.

Taylor Hicks may have gotten his start on television performing in front of the judges' table, but on tonight’s Law & Order: Special Victim’s Unit, the American Idol season six winner gets promoted to his own seat.

“Playing a talent show judge was cool because I was on the other side the actual judges table,” Hicks tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Who doesn't want to channel their inner Simon Cowell?”

The 37-year-old soul singer had nothing but praise for his co-stars and enjoyed his time reuniting with Aiken (no slouch in the acting department with guest-starring roles on 30 Rock and Scrubs, as well a slew of theater roles including a starring turn on Broadway in Spamalot) for the episode.

“Everyone was super nice and Ashanti was sweet too,” he said.

In Tuesday’s episode, “Dissonant Voices”, Det. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) is investigating a sexual abuse scandal, which could ruin the career of a popular singing coach (played by Broadway star Billy Porter). Among the additional guest stars is X Factor season two runner-up, Carly Rose Sonenclar, who will play a contestant on American Diva.

Tell us about your acting debut! How did you prepare for the role?
What a great debut! SVU is one of my favorite shows. When I got the call to appear and play myself, I jumped at the chance. Obviously I went over my lines, but playing yourself is a really great way to get your feet wet in the acting field. I enjoyed being on set and learning as much as I could about the scripted world.

You've done live theater before, and obviously television with Idol and The Choice -- how was it working with a script?
Working with a script is a challenge because obviously you have to remember lines. This was a small role so you can see how learning a whole show would be difficult. If you love what you’re doing it doesn't seem like work. I have been actively auditioning in the scripted department for a year now. I love having an acting coach. I was born on TV, meaning that's where I caught my break. So that’s where I always have to be smart and revisit that medium as much as I can.

How are things going in Nashville? Anything you can talk about yet?
The country record is going really well. I have been in and out of the studio a lot lately. I am flying a lot between my residency at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas and Nashville. I feel very blessed at this point in my career. I’m coming up on a decade in show biz. I'm very proud of that.

Dissonant Voices" new episode of SVU Wednesday....
An new episode of SVU called "Dissonant Voices" airs this Wednesday with guest star 2013 Tony award winner Billy Porter, Carly Rose Sonenclar, Ashanti, Taylor Hicks and Clay Aiken as "judges" in a music contest.

This will be the second music themed episode on SVU (last one was "Funny Valentine"), so how will this be addressed in this episode.... and a relevant topic to talk about, since does it happens out there and how to stop it.... which is why the text in the miniposter is not entirely "clear" as something is going on behind the scenes....

And what is it about Benson's parents talk coming up with the "good" shrink?? hhmmm some more flash back or.....?

I am releasing the poster a tad earlier as these days real life has me busy as well with my own photos needs to be edited.... :)

Episode information link after the miniposter....(oh and as usual with ideas while doing these posters, other ideas pops in, so there are two same version of this poster.... think I'm doing too many.... like double every time almost..... Thanks SVU gang for inspiration.....)

1. 'Law & Order: SVU': 'Dissonant Voices' an 'American Idol' takeoff By Jacqueline Cutler
November 6, 2013 10:01 PM ET

Clay Aiken and Taylor Hicks show up as judges on a talent competition on Wednesday's (Nov. 6) "Law & Order: SVU."
The fake "American Diva" bears an uncanny resemblance to "American Idol," where the two singers got their big breaks.

The episode has them (along with R&B singer Ashanti) behind the judges' desk. Carly Rose Sonenclar, runner-up on Season 2 of "The X Factor," takes the stage. She's so nervous, she's initially inaudible, but quickly finds her terrific voice.

As she's wowing the audience, which was a theater full of extras at Manhattan's Hudson Theatre last month, the action breaks to the detectives going about their lives, all tuning into the singing contest. Detective Amaro (Danny Pino) and his daughter watch at a diner. Rollins (Kelli Giddish) and Tutuola (Ice-T) watch while eating take-out Chinese food, and Benson (Mariska Hargitay) has the show on at home, while on the phone.

It's a sweet, mundane evening. When Carly Rose finishes singing "For Once in My Life," she drags her voice coach on stage to take a bow with her.

Billy Porter, who won a Tony last season for "Kinky Boots," plays the coach, Jackie Walker. And while he's taking a bow, more people are watching from home, including Jonah, 4, whose mom tells him to watch because Walker is his music teacher.

Walker works as a music teacher at an upscale preschool. Jonah becomes agitated, talking about what a bad man Mr. Jackie is and how the teacher makes him play doctor. Naturally, the next scene is of the little boy talking with Benson.

Expect that special disgust reserved for sexual predators of the youngest.

Benson coaxes the story out of Jonah, who tells how Mr. Jackie tickled him with "a purple egg." Jonah's older sister, Brooke, weeps that Jonah had told her but that she didn't believe him. Brooke blames herself.

Rollins isn't buying the boy's story. She knows that if Walker is accused, his life will be over.

Doctors found no physical evidence of a sexual crime, but the detectives investigate. In the music room, they find a vibrator, the purple egg, among small drums and tambourines.

Walker vehemently denies any improprieties.

"Those egg shakers are not mine," Walker says, in a sort of Bill Clinton-"I did not have sex with that woman" voice. "Stop! I am not a child molester. All I do is teach kids music."

Benson is dubious.

"You are on a TV show," she says. "You have this big, thriving career coaching singers. Why are you still teaching preschool?"

"Because I actually care about the job I do," he replies. "Kids need music in their lives. The early years are important."

Soon, the detectives interview Jonah's pal, Cooper, who tells a very similar story to Jonah's, except Cooper gets a little tripped up on the details. Rollins listens to Cooper and realizes he confused his home bathroom and the one at school, where the alleged incidents occurred. Rollins, who suspected something was off about the case, is now even more doubtful.

But the detectives must continue to investigate. Walker is arrested, arraigned and held on $1 million bail. A feeding frenzy ensues, the sort that would happen if an "American Idol" coach were accused of such heinous crimes.

Walker continues to maintain his innocence while he is fired from the show, loses his day job and his reputation.

As the detectives keep digging, they find nine children with very similar stories, but they are all 4 years old. They won't do well on the witness stand and sound a little rehearsed. The detectives need to find an older kid. They return to Jonah's older sister.

Take the lessons from "The Art of War" and combine them with "Mean Girls" and you get an idea of how incredibly vindictive 15-year-old girls can be. Walker had been the voice coach for Brooke and her friend Rachel, the older sister of one of the other accusers, but he dropped them to concentrate on the character Carly Rose plays.

Walker's only crime? The singing coach told the teens the truth: They were never going to make it.

"I saved them from 10 years of waiting for a break that would never come," he says.

They could not handle the truth and decided to ruin his life by coaching their little brothers to lie about the teacher.

When the city dismisses the charges against Walker, no press is on hand to cover the hearing. The feeding frenzy is over, as is his career and any semblance of a normal life.

What did you think of this week's "SVU"?

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Taylor Hicks fans are likely to be aflutter tonight, when the singer makes his debut on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." On the 8 p.m. episode, called "Dissonant Voices," Hicks appears as himself, judging a fictional reality show called "American Diva." Also at the table: Clay Aiken and Ashanti.

Our interview with Hicks -- a Hoover native, Las Vegas headliner and former "American Idol" winner -- offers his take on the "SVU" experience. It also reveals his plans to pursue more acting opportunities, with the exception of two reality shows.
