Thanks, Medo, for sharing all your experiences and "goodies" from Sequim! I was thrilled to hear a bit of the sound check! We appreciate the recap, videos and photos!! And the news about Gr8fulheart is great! I'm so glad you got to go! I won't be so polite....we want to see the toenails! HA! That IS a unique identification means! Off to see your videos and photos. Thanks again for sharing. We really appreciate it when fans take us along when we can't actually be there. It is still fun for us to enjoy it through your eyes and words! You rock! |

I find myself in an emotional state as I read the review about Taylor's concert. I am disappointed to not have been able to attend; BUT ~ I am Grateful that our Medo moved forward & took in such a remarkable evening. And, to know Taylor was so well received, makes my heart smile. I will take the time a bit later to read the full recap & posts. Thanx Medo, for all you have pulled together for everyone to see. You are such a blessing to us; & I am grateful for your friendship.♥ |

Music Concert Taylor Hicks live at 7 Cedars Casino, Sequim, Washington by dhent on September 28, 2010 Taylor Hicks, backed by a band of six, played before an enthusiastic crowd on 25 at 7 Cedars Casino in Sequim, Washington, September. He commanded public attention to the more or less than ninety minutes, offering a mix of original songs and covers. Drenched in sweat by the end, Hicks earned every bit of applause that reversed its usual passion in every song. He played rhythm guitar on most numbers, breaking his trademark harmonica on several key points. Performing nearly half of her latest album, The Distance clearly dominated by the spectacle. Having perfected these songs on the road over many performances, it all sounded much better than their studio versions already impressive. “What is right is right,” a hit on the Adult Contemporary chart last year, mostly seemed to make a new life with a brilliant vocal performance. “Nineteen”, preceded by an emotional tribute to the men and women serving in the Armed Forces of the United States, negotiated some country and western flavor for a more traditional R & B sound. One of the quietest of the evening was a version of Law of the best track of the distance: “Maybe you should,” written by Mike Reid Hicks. The song had the simple provision of the concerts, which allows the public to focus on the nuances of voice expressive of Hicks. Dip back to the original songs of his first collection of works, “The Deal” and “Hold on Your Love” both upward, which is one of the most amazing performances. Augmented by some impressive sax solos, the song was transformed from its slot in the American family blues stomper. A distinctive feature of Hicks’ approach is the inspired weaves fragments of other songs on it are made. The slow burning groove of “Seven Mile Breakdown,” a highlight of blues-rock in the distance, became unexpectedly – but no problems – the Beatles “Get Back”. It then took a turn left onto Jackson Browne “Running on Empty” before returning to where it started. Similarly, Buddy Holly Not Fade Away “, jokingly introduced as” a song I made in that program, “followed by” The Runaround “, from 2006 to Taylor Hicks. Between the covers is Delbert McClinton’s “return to Louisiana,” before quoted McClinton as a mentor Hicks. Derek & the Dominoes “Why does love have to be so sad” instrumental fireworks caused among the members of the band. The topics covered were well chosen, Hicks playing strengths as a singer. |

OOOH medo=-thanks for all the decent pix-I can just about tell what songs you got them on just by the expressions on Taylor's face- One in particular-the one where he's pointing at the audience-let me guess- "How 'bout you Nineteen??" We should all take the one where he's standing there with hands over the heart and eyes closed and dedicate it to our friend Gr8fulheart as her special pic- |

Its funny how the attendance numbers differ. My source tells me it was somewhere between 500 & 600. Well~so that is over 200~right? In any case, it was very obvious from all the reports that Taylor was WELL received! How about we email the 7 Cedars & show them our appreciation for having Taylor perform there?

I just received a response back from 7 Cedars Casino in response to an email I sent to thank them for having Taylor appear in their establishment. I've pasted the message to them, & their response. I find it very interesting about the 'next' time. Hmm~maybe if a few others would thank them? ~~~~~~~~~ Hi Evelyn…sorry to hear you weren’t able to make it! I hope your feeling better. Thank you for your input, we all had a great time. We hope to see you next time. Paula -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Evelyn Sent: Wednesday, September 29, 2010 6:50 PM To: paula@7cedarsresort.com Subject: Thank You I am sending you a Big "THANK YOU" for having Taylor Hicks perform in your establishment on Saturday, September 25th. I had my bags packed & ready to head to my local airport, when circumstances ended me up in the Emergency Room just (3) hours prior to my flight. Even though I was terribly disappointed in not being able to see Taylor this time; I am grateful many new fans, as well as already established fans, were able to do so. From all reports I've seen & heard, it was an enthusiastic concert & held in a very nice venue. Taylor is always such a joy to see. Thanx♥ |

Already got that baby downloaded & burned to a cd for my listening pleasure as I drive. EVERYONE STAY CLEAR OF MY PATH, SINCE I MAY JUST GET 'LOST IN THE MUSIC'! Since I was repromanded by a friend at church for not asking her to go this concert, I think ~ maybe ~ she might forgive me if I share the cd with her? I'm really loving all the positives coming from this concert.
