Taylor's Facebook Announcement of this event. I am wondering if it will be just the two of them or whether there will be a "panel". I also wonder whether Taylor is doing this as a "representative" of the Department of Tourism is Alabama trying to promote the state to those who are hesitant to go because of the oil spill. This will be great coverage !!!!!

Taylor Live On MSNBC!!!
Tune in Friday, 6/18/2010, to see Taylor interviewed by Chris Jansing between 12:30 - 1:00 PM PST on MSNBC. They will be discussing the Oil Spill Disaster in the Gulf. Be sure to check it out!

I think most people have their DVD 's set for 3:00 just to make sure................ these shows are fairly well scripted to run on time.........we shall see............. I wonder how long the interview will be ...............they are usually only about 3 to 5 minutes unless ther are more people involved..........

Happy times for Taylor
Good exposure
Worthwhile subject matter

I just watched the interview on my DVR.

Taylor is a very articulate spokesperson for the Gulf! He did his state proud and shows his passion for the Gulf. He was informed and relaxed

I hope this going national helps the area. People need to vacation on the Gulf!

He is giving Anderson Cooper competition...

And I like Anderson Cooper.

Go get 'em Taylor!!!

VERY well done-you can tell his sincerity and concern-yet typically, he refused to dwell on the negative and stayed positive-choosing not to focus on the smell, the dirt, the stench etc but telling everyone "come on down everything's open and ready for ya!" and yet letting everyone know ALSO that Alabamians (and indeed ALL of the residents of the affected areas) are a tough lot and they will survive, but the word must stay out there-

Nicely done. Taylor looked relaxed & yes, you can see the concern, But ~ as stated by OBG ~ he remained positive about the situation.
This is good pr for him & hopefully, people everywhere will see another side of Taylor. :thumbsup

Get over to the Media side & take a glance at those wonderful pictures, & get your own personal download to drool over! :ddr

Speaking of the Gulf Oil Spill.

Larry King is hosting a telethon on Monday June 21, 2010 on CNN for the Gulf Relief Effort. It would be great if Taylor could participate as Ryan Seacrest has suggested , but whether he tapes an appearance or not , I am thinking he is behind this effort.

Somebody's gotta come to the rescue and it might as well be Tinseltown.

Cameron Diaz, Kathy Griffin, E!'s very own Ryan Seacrest and Chelsea Handler and teen wunderkind Justin Bieber are among the stars set to join CNN's Larry King for a special Larry King Live Telethon Monday night benefiting those left devastated by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Dubbed "Disaster in the Gulf: How You Can Help," the fundraiser will feature guests appearing either live or via satellite. Other celebs include American Idol's Randy Jackson, Ted Danson, Lenny Kravitz, Jenny McCarthy, Tim McGraw, Alyssa Milano, Robert Redford, Ian Somerhalder, Edward James Olmos, Melania and Ivanka Trump, Victoria Principal and Pete Wentz.

Addtionally there will be a special performance by Sting while Seacrest will host a special Online "Social Suite" for those viewers participating via Facebook and Twitter.

Money raised from the telethon will benefit the United Way, the National Wildlife Federation and the Nature Conservancy, relief organizations that are at the forefront helping families, individuals and wildlife affected by the gusher.

Other efforts to help from celebrities include Kevin Costner: While he will certainly profit from the use of these machines, it was his money that initiated the development of these machines and if they work, it is a wonderful effort on his part . I am sure that everyone hopes that there is merit to this attempt at cleaning up the Gulf waters.

Costner's 'dream' machines debut

http://fieldnotes.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2010/06/18/4530991-costners-dream-machines-debut

Actor Kevin Costner, left, founding partner of Ocean Therapy Solutions and BP CEO of Operations Doug Suttles, center, talk before boarding the barge holding Ocean Therapy's centrifuge machine designed to separate oil and water in Port Fourchon, La., Friday.
Hollywood star Kevin Costner debuted Friday in his supporting role as a Gulf oil-spill fighter.

News agencies reported on the actor's premiere staged at the docks in the oil industry supply port of Port Fourchon in southern Louisiana as BP began deploying 32 of his "dream" machines to separate oil from water. Costner's backdrop was an oil-finding barge with his machines mounted on the deck.

"At its core, my dream, this machine, was designed ... to give us a fighting chance to fight back the oil that's got us by the throat," Costner told reporters.

"When you are in a fight, anybody knows you go to confront it right where it is. You don't wait for it to come to your door," the actor said.

Costner's company, Ocean Therapy Solutions, signed a contract with BP to provide 32 units expected to work in the next 60 days.

BP Chief Operating Officer Doug Suttles would not disclose financial details.

Costner said each machine, called a V20, can separate 210,000 gallons of oily water a day.

Costner, best-known for such films as "Dances with Wolves" and "Waterworld," stressed he was no overnight oil spill sensation. He has been trying to employ the technology designed by his company for the past 17 years, and has invested more than $20 million of his own money in its development.

The technology was developed two decades ago by a researcher at the Idaho National Laboratory by scientist David Meikrantz, who initially sought to use the machines to separate the components of nuclear substances.

In 1993, INL licensed the technology to Ocean Therapy Solutions, a company owned by Costner.
