griz at NFF was wondering what we might do to promote the SOS Children's Village show in Philly; that's the only one announced so far, right?, that Taylor is doing. I'm going to write an article on the charity & mention that Taylor was chosen to kick off the worldwide tour; it'll go up on the writeonnewjersey.com site. We also thought we could all tweet this. Might be a good idea? Can't hurt? Oh yeah. I'm KatfromNYNJ on twitter. Hardly go there any more as that site just murders my system but I did tweet it. Took me three posts, LOL. |

We have to assume that , because this is an SOS Charity Event that they will carry the ball and begin promoting this . It is to their advantage to have a large turnout and their press department is much larger than ours ............think ours 0 , theirs 10. I would hope that their publicity committee would be all over the initial concert for SOS Children's Villages. The national associations are registered and organized as a foundation, trust, association, non-profit company or society. With this type of organization , they are far better equiped to give Taylor the PR he needs . I think tweeting and facebook entries of information that SHOULD be provided by both the SOS organization and the Kimmel Theatre will help. I am thinking that Taylor will be doing a bit of local ( Philly ) media the week before the event. Perhaps around June 1, informationa will begin to appear in Philadelphia and its environs. Am looking forward to your article on writeonenewjersey.com site. You always do a grand job with "stating your case". Do you know when your piece will appear ??? Taylor has an ad for it on his .ning site and facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Taylor-Hicks/24467861994 and Matt Cusson has one on his site. http://www.matt-cusson.com/ The Kimmel Center also has a brief ad: http://www.kimmelcenter.org/events/index.php?id=3814 |

Thanks, dolls. This one will be fun since I know very little about this charity. :-) mouser, I think as soon as I write it, my boss will put it up. He usually holds off until he can schedule the article in as timely a manner as possible. However, he's particularly fond of articles that highlight people & events in the Jersey-Philly area and I'll put the screws to him, LOL, to put it up as soon as I write it. I have something almost ready for this weekend on TTHC blog. TaylorHicksTeam will continue to tweet also on twitter. The blog will continue to feature SOS as things come out... This is a great idea, Kaitlin and griz. I don't know a lot about the charity either. I'm looking forward to your article. |

A day late and a dollar short. I asked my boss to pull my article as soon as tish alerted me that the concert had been rescheduled for September. What bothers me is that the Bucks County magazine did not, nor did they run a postscript alerting readers to the rescheduled date. I have a background in publishing: books and magazines. Things can, and often have, been amended at the last minute before the publication goes to press. I'm not blaming the magazine for this. The promoter, Gen Rose, with whom I had a phone conversation the day before the gig got rescheduled, should have alerted the magazine to do this. |

Google Alerts, as late as this morning are still advertising this show for June 17............... seems odd to me. I really think it is up to : 1. Ms. Rose who is the "producer" 2. The SOS organization and the committee under their umbrella who is in charge of Publicity for these events. 3. The theater ( Kimmel) should be blaring the change on all their websites. |
