Well, I am exhausted just reading your recap OBG. If nothing else, the day was beautiful, you were outdoors taking in the scenery and the lively action on the course and you got to see Taylor enjoying himself.

The pictures are great, knowing that you were actually there makes them very personal for us fans who must live vicariously .

Loved the "interview" with Dr. Hicks
Loved the "encounter" with the children
Loved the fact that Charles Barkley waited for Taylor and they went off together: However, while I love Charles , he is not known for moderation and I hope Taylor does not ask him for "lifestyle tips".

Fun fun, fun read .

Thanks

I just wish I could have gotten to the press portion-and watched the tee off and HEARD THE HARP-but next year we'll do it right-hopefully!! Wish it was more for you guys.

Atmore next week shouldn't be a problem-its indoors and sitting!!!

OBG, you are a jewel to share your Taylor adventure with us. I love all the pictures! The talk with Dr. Hicks was great. The part about Taylor visiting the children......well gosh, does he have to make us love him more? :)

Take care of yourself and thanks again.

:wv OBG ~ As always, I loved hearing all about your day at Ross Bridge ~ looked like beautiful weather for a golf tournament! Don't know why you say you wish you had "more" for us guys ~ as mouser said, I was exhausted just reading about all that you experienced while you were there, all the photos you were able to take (which were wonderful), your conversations with Taylor's Dad and various others, and your always-entertaining, colorful details of the whole event! :cs

I just loved all the pics ~ love that you took one showing Taylor's bag cover which says "Taylor Hicks Soul Patrol!" It is so special that Taylor always remembers his fans, and finds a way to let them know how much he appreciates them! Just one of the many things we love about him ..... :ld

Thanks again for sharing your wonderful day with us! As always, I really enjoyed your always-entertaining and interesting "feedback" of this year's Ross Bridge/Taylor adventure!! :thumbsup

Great job!! Take care of that sunburn, and thanks so much for sharing! :ht

Well I guess that compared to last year with all the trash talking and fun and all-and all the interaction between Taylor, myself and Bo Jackson this one seemed a bit dull and routine-and I think that's what I was thinking of when I said I wish there could have been more-also chiding myself for not getting to the shuttles sooner so that we could enjoy all the press and HARP on tee off-(I have YET to see that in 4 years of attending this tourney!!!)

But its still Ross Bridge, myself, Jazzy and Taylor and you just can't get any better than that-

Hope you guys enjoyed my little tale!

I didn't just enjoy your adventure; I Loved it! Remember~if not for You & Jazzy attending this event, we would have little to nothing of personal contact about this event.

After looking at the length of your post, I decided to wait until I had the time to sit & enjoy, but mostly be able to read without my eyes tiring. Some of us aren't as young as we use to be, ya know! :lm

The conversation with Dr. Hicks was great. I'm certain he loves being a part of this; watching his son & feeling the pride.

When you mention the group of disabled attendees, I could almost hear Taylor thinking; "What golf game?" He is so compassionate in dedication to making people happy.

The pictures you took were amazing. Taylor looks so happy & that makes my heart smile. The scenery ~ (besides Taylor, that is) ~ is Beautiful.

Like the others here, I greatly appreciate all you do to bring us some of the extra 'goodies' we would not otherwise be able to experience. You always give 100% & it shows. From all of us to you :gh

This article in the Birmingham News wrapping up the Regions Event, demonstrates the draw of the AM'S over the PRO'S : it eludes to the lovely picture of Taylor playing the harmonica that has been captured by FREE LANCE PICTURES .com :

Scarbinsky: Another nice (and boring) golf tournament
By Kevin Scarbinsky -- The Birmingham News
May 17, 2010, 5:30AM

Could you pick winner Dan Forsman out of a crowd? (The Birmingham News / Frank Couch)Dan Forsman did something extraordinary over the weekend in our back yard.

He shot a 30 on the back nine Saturday and a 30 on the front nine Sunday at Ross Bridge. He followed a stunning 62 in the second round with a strong 66 in the final round of the Regions Charity Classic.

He won the tournament in a walk and collected a big fat cardboard check for $255,000.

And if you polled the general population, the majority would agree that nothing he did was as entertaining as the following sequence of events that took place in a 30-minute window on the first tee Thursday.

Taylor Hicks played the harmonica. Charles Barkley turned into a mime, tipping his hat to the applauding gallery, except he wasn’t wearing a hat. Brodie Croyle poked fun at himself for never winning the Iron Bowl.
As the former Alabama quarterback put his tee in the ground, first-tee announcer Jim Dunaway of CBS-42 started reading an impressive list of accomplishments – of former Alabama quarterback and golfing partner for the day John Parker Wilson.

Oops. One feat Dunaway mentioned: Beating Auburn 36-0.

Croyle and Wilson traded places, but not before Croyle quipped, ``I just wanted somebody to say I beat Auburn.’’

Now that’s entertainment.

The warm-up act is never supposed to upstage the headliner, but where else can you see an American Idol winner, one of the NBA’s 50 greatest players and not one but two beloved former Alabama quarterbacks in the same place?

The star-studded pro-am has set the Regions Charity Classic apart from other Champions Tour events from the start. The tournament histories section of the 2010 Champions Tour media guide includes only two pictures that don’t feature professional golfers.

In one, Bill Murray clowns around at the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am. In the other, Hicks and Barkley stroll down a fairway at the Regions Charity Classic.

The downside of all that star power is that it sets the pro-am apart from the actual tournament itself, and the gap gets bigger every year.

Consider the roster of recent tournament winners going backwards. Forsman. Keith Fergus. Andy Bean. Brad Bryant back-to-back. D.A. Weibring. Bruce Fleisher. Tom Jenkins. Sammy Rachels.

They’re all accomplished to different degrees but, to the average man in the street, they’re all anonymous. The last winner here who arrived with a major championship from the PGA Tour on his resume was Hale Irwin in 2001.

Nobody who’s won since has been a major somebody.

Forsman played like a multiple major winner for the longest time. He was 8-under through his first 11 holes Sunday, which made him 19-under for his previous 27 holes, which is outstanding stuff on any tour at any time.

But there’s a difference between excelling and exciting.

Forsman excelled, but he excited no one beyond his friends and family, especially when he returned to reality over the final six holes, gave back a couple of shots and failed to break the records he threatened.

It’s not Forsman’s fault that this tournament has grown a bit stale after 19 years. Don’t blame him because, when he backed up on the back nine, no one charged ahead to challenge his lead and add a buzz to the finish.

How is a final threesome of Forsman, Bobby Clampett and Peter Senior supposed to move the masses like a pairing of Nick Saban and Cornelius Bennett? How are the real golfers supposed to get people excited when Auburn and Alabama fans will show up just to watch Gene Chizik and Anthony Grant putt?

Despite Sunday’s spotty weather, there was a nice crowd around 18 as the final group reached the final green. It was a nice cap to a nice week all around.

Overall, though, you could describe the tournament as Senior did his final round, which ended with 12 straight pars: ``It wasn’t very exciting.’’

Jazzy's pics and videos are here-she got a couple of short VIDS of Taylor on Hole 5-and a couple more good shots-which I don't think she'd mind being posted-

;wh I agree, Gr8ful, the pictures are awesome ~ gorgeous scenes and colors! What a lovely day and a beautiful golf course! You must have had a great time! So glad you could be there!

But, like Gr8ful, I also had a problem with the videos ~ when I click on the start arrow, it says, "There was a problem playing your video - playback failed."

No worries though ~ I so much enjoyed the plethora of beautiful photography, colorful, detailed recaps, and all the other "goodies" you always bring back to us from your Ross Bridge adventures! Thanks so much! :whe
