July 10, 2006 Hartford Civic Center 1 Civic Center Plz, Hartford, CT 06103 (860) 725-0019 THE HARTFORD CIVIC CENTER: ![]() As originally built in 1975, it seated 10,507 for hockey, and served as the home of the then-New England Whalers for three years. On the evening of January 18, 1978, just hours after the University of Connecticut Men's Basketball team defeated the University of Massachusetts; the weight of snow from the day's heavy snowstorm was too much for the Civic Center roof to withstand and it collapsed. There were no injuries. The building was heavily renovated and re-opened January 17, 1980. In recent years, the arena has been upgraded with a new center-hung scoreboard with four Sony Jumbotrons and a state-of-the-art sound system. WrestleMania XI was held here, as were Survivor Series 1990, No Way Out 2000 and Vengeance 2004. The 1982 Big East Conference and 1988–1990 America East Conference men's basketball tournaments were also here. ![]() SEATING CAPACITY: 16,600 ![]() SET LIST: Jailhouse Rock" (Entrance) ( Elvis Presley ) "Hollywood Nights" ( Bob Seger ) Sweet Soul Music ( Wilson Pickett) What's Goin' On ( Marvin Gaye ) "Livin' For The City" ( Stevie Wonder ) "Don't Let Me Down" ( The Beatles ) "Do I Make You Proud" "Takin' It To The Streets" (Encore) ( Doobie Brothers ) MEDIA: SOUL PATROL MEMORIES: 1. let it be Yeah, so Hartford is pretty much amazing courtesy of CTclayfan at IDF2. jsr111092 Jul 15th 2006, Hartford was amazing...all of them are great....I have seen them 3 times already, going for 4,and hoping for more...so they are most definitly not forgettable! courtesy of CTclayfan at IDF
