I really appreciate your recap, Gypsee. While still in the fog of trying to remember everything you heard and felt at that incredible performance, you took the time to share it with us. We all know how seeing Taylor perform live can send all the brainwaves into hyperdrive. Thanks for coming down to earth long enough to share the experience with us.

I have been asked for more details about the single. From what my addled brain can remember....Taylor was very into it. He sang it slow and mellow and leaned into the crowd a lot while he sang it.

It has a gospel feel to it, with a healthy dose of blues. The lyrics are really, really good and it's a love song, without being mushy. The lyrics are a good representation of what a romantic relationship or a very good friendship should be, to my thinking. And it fits his voice the way TRP did, as far as a slow song, although for me nothing will ever touch that one! That is really about all I can say, because without hearing it, it's hard to explain further. Just know that you are going to LOVE IT!

The things I remember clearly are his soulful sound combined with sheer energy. "Compared to What" was amazing tonight and his version of "The Maze" blew my mind. He did "Give Me Tonight" a bit more mellow than disco and "Heaven Knows" is always great.

This was a terrific night of music, soul, and entertainment. His voice sounded better to me than ever!

OK Wonder from SOS with whom I was standing, confirmed Woman's Gotta Have It. I remember the intro about the Bobby Womack song now, but since I am not as familiar with WGHI, I didn't recognize it or remember it. I am sure some will think my set reporting is not that sharp, but O Well...lol.

The set list I was given differed as often does from what was performed.

Gypsee...we love you for sharing with us.

How you can even remember your name after the night you had is beyond me ? Much less every song and sequence in an extensive set of songs - I think you did an absolutely magnificent job recapping your experience.

Taylor is the ultimate live performer. I've never seen anyone like him. Thanks, Gypsee, for the recap. Also, it's nice to see some friendly names here from times past.

The missing song is "I Believe", something he did on the 2007 tour only a few times. I loved it! And the new single, IMHO, will be a success! It's beautiful, mellow, and perfect for Taylor's voice and style.

Taylor was so happy last night that his happiness could be felt. There were a couple of people in front of me from the cast and they were really into what Taylor was singing and complimentary of what was going on.

I saw a lot of locals maybe, definitely not SPers' and the guy who tried to video was so drunk he was staggering and almost fell on me! Glad he left! Don't know if they took his camera or just the camera card or just erased what he had taken. He was right in front of me.

The show was perfect in every way. I was so glad to be part of the night. And I'm glad you put up a set list, cause I couldn't remember everything!

This is a wonderful thread to read...I am thrilled to hear how happy Taylor was and how incredible his music. I'm glad the Grease cast was there...he is reaching new fans all the time. I am thrilled to read how much everyone enjoyed the show. For those of us who have to wait a while, this is a way to feel the joy and excitement of Taylor and his new music while we wait!

Thanks Gypsee and Tayfan sooooooooo much! It is a real treat for us to be able to share in the evening and all that it meant. I know that it must have been a wonderful time for Taylor to be back on stage in concert with his music...which is what he loves most.

The news of the new CD is exciting...it will be pure Taylor. I love the recap of the single, What's Right is Right...it sounds like an amazing soul sound and I love the touch of gospel. When the snippet was up on Amazon for a short time, that was my first comment...it has a gospel sound! I love that and I know it will be a huge hit...radio play this time!!! Yes!

I appreciate everyone sharing their experiences and thoughts here. I hope we can all hang out and enjoy this new journey with Taylor! It will be great fun! Thanks to everyone for all that you bring to us!

What a great way to start 2009!!!

Thanks gals for the fabulous recaps. I'm speechless at this moment. It sounds like the new cd is going to be a WINNER! I sure hope he does a cd tour so the rest of us can enjoy him again. Wouldn't it be great if he did a couple of nights at each stop in smaller venues/clubs? Ü
Oh Yes ~ Yes! I vote Yes! Bring him on. We Need Another 'All Hicks Fix' over here! ;wh

And Thanx mouser for the Amazon ' link with the 'snippet' of 'WRIR'. I Forced myself to take another listen! :thumbsup
