A basic code for placing a minimum amount of words to be typed before you can actually post, this could be to prevent spam posts and whatnot. :)

Preview - Here

Place the code in your Board Template > Below the board:

Code:

<script type="text/javascript">
//Add as many forums you want
var The_Forums = [210865,MORE_FORUMS,MORE_FORUMS];

//Message
var message = "You have less than the minimum amount of words required to make a spam free post!";

//Word Limit
var Limit = 5;
</script><script type='text/javascript' src='http://z3.ifrm.com/86/75/0/p31028/WordLimit.txt'></script>

All you need to do is just change the MORE_FORUMS or delete them if you want, and just seperate each new forum number that you add in with a comma. You can change the message that is displayed as well along with the minimum amount of words to be typed for the Word Limit. :)

I tried this before, maybe it was an earlier version of your code, anyway, this time it worked perfectly....so far. Going to test it more. Thank you.

tested it, different ways. works PEEEEEERFECTLY!:D...

Then an update; for some reason it stopped working ???

Update again; it worked again, then went wrong again. Now I'm confused.

I suspect that the code is conflicting somewhere with another code on my board which counts characters.

What would be really useful though, would be a code which doesn't need every forum listed where it will be used, but needed only the forums listed where it wasn't going to be used.

The other problem that comes up is that when a post is less than the required number of words, it becomes impossible to post AT ALL until logging off and logging back on again, or deleting the cookies. I don't have a clue why this happens.

Croino the code you mentioned it conflicting with, do you happen to mean How's my post? If so yeah it does and I would really like both :P

Another similar one, puts character limits on posts (made by godkillah from phantom-designs.net).

I would like to use all three. Trying right now to learn Jquery and go through it, fix the problem somehow.

After some experimentation, what I'm going to do for the moment is put the seperate codes under different themes; have one version of the board themes just for the OOCs and General posts, but make all the roleplay forums fit their own particular set of themes (a Sci-Fi theme for the Sci-Fi group, a Jungle theme for the folks in the jungle etc...) I'll test out the idea anyway.
