Heyo~ I was wondering (I've checked the code database and such, I couldnt quite find something that would work for my purposes. There was one that used the chatacters in the posts as some reference, that is similar to my request) -Codes that involve iFrames or multiple page requests using AJAX I'm unsure if my request violates that rule, I apologize if it does so~ Okay! Im looking for a code to simply record Experience for each given user via the amount of characters that their posts contain in certain forums A mod that works for post count will not work, as then the Stat becomes pointless. My goal is to seperate 'good' Role Players from 'Average' and 'Bad' The more detail and elaboration used, the higher their experience will become IF Possible I would like it to show up in the mini profile as well~ Thank you

The only problem I see with this could be that "bad" RPers could post a lot of jibberish and still get a lot of experience. I guess it's the quality of the post, but usually the amount of characters in an RP post does not determine the quality of it, wouldn't you say? |

You do have a point, however from my experience with Role Players i've noticed that the more you post the better you get, so at the very least they will get better in the process. Also, I'd estimate at least half of the bad role-players are too lazy to write a lot frequently lol. |

Hmm, true. I actually sorta want to do this code. I don't think my JS skills are high enough to do it completely alone, but it seems that if I use "How's my Post" as a sort of foundation I might be able to do some of it. I'll actually talk to Reid and see if he could sort of guide me in this as I go along. If not, I can easily turn it to Reid or any of the other coders. The only thing I might see that might be a problem is the Ajax requests really. If Reid deems it possible to do then I'll see if I can do it for ya

KK Thanks DorithI actually like the Hows my Post too, it's pretty nifty, and when you fill up the bar you feel like a better poster Lmao. |

you still have to store the info somewhere. there is php and a db or there is possibly the siggy or something else. using something like the hows my post where if you hit a certain thing it gives you a certain # of exp isnt the hard part really cuz you could base it off of the Hows my post. its storing the info. |

I figured that would be the problem, what are the possible ways to do it? To me the forum seemed as if it didnt have a way to keep all this data, that did worry me. |

Oh god... Well I PMed Reid, so we'll see how it goes. If storing stuff isn't too hard, then it should be alright. I know Slayer used that for his ZB RPGs, so I could take a look at that. Yeah... if all else fails, I just do the whole "How's My Post" part of the code and Reid does everything else ![]() Edit: There are ways Kit. Usually through the forum signature. Which is sorta unsafe in a way, unless it constantly checks for posts and such. I'll talk to Reid about it, there are other ways, but it's more complicated I'm sure.
