In progress. Thoughts? =]

(Obviously, that's not a real ZB forum. I just copied and pasted the HTML because the older jQuery version is screwing up the UI library an' stuff.)

The code is like 3 lines long so far, but it's really retarded stuff so i'll fix it up later.

It alerts the order of the categories after you've sorted them.

It'll eventually save that order and automatically order the categories whenever you load the index (cookies!)

I have seen this idea before but I never bothered with it. Good luck with the cookies; they are devilishly irritating on ZB.

That's awesome. Too bad I don't know anything about coding here...otherwise I could insert some random comment about cookies too. :D Can't wait to see it finished up. =D

I dunno what type of cookie code you guys are using...I just use the read & write cookie functions from quirksmode.org and it's as simple as saying writeCookie("name","choco") and then readCookie("name"). :)

Thanks for the comments so far. :D

That is especially cool, and unfortunately I know absolutely nothing about coding either but great work all the same :D

Ah, that's true. I suppose you don't have to worry about the path at all since you don't have to have the cookie carry across the entire forum.

When you try to make a cookie that is accessible on the entire forum, like in topics and stuff, etc, then it becomes very annoying.

I don't understand what you mean. Cookies are subdomain-wide, or at least that's what I understand them to mean. So the cookie works across the forum. My welcome PM script uses these functions and it reads cookies on the home and inbox page that were set on the registration page. :)

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel it's odd to see this:

Oh, I see. The cookie functions on quirksmode automatically assign a path for them. Very neat.

They don't carry across like that, by the way. If you create a cookie without a path in a topic then it will not be able to be read on the index, for example.
