As posted on another forum (but got no response) thought I might get a response here instead:

Hi there, my query is this, thought some of you coding brainiacs (although I am one myself, just not fully learnt PHP yet!) might be able to help me out.

Is it possible to have an auto responder only on certain email forms on my website?
I know you can have an auto-reply on the email address itself, but I only want an auto-reply to occur when certain forms are submitted. My site has several different contact forms on different pages, and I only want an auto-response on particular ones.

Can anyone point me in the right direction with some tutorials or provide some sample code or something?

I'd be very grateful if you could as I need this done by Thursday! :D

I found this example: http://www.designsamples.com/cgi/arform/sample.htm

Code:

<INPUT TYPE="hidden" name="reply_subject" value="Thank you!">
<INPUT TYPE="hidden" name="reply_text" value="Hello,

We have received your inquiry and will reply within 24 hours. Thank you for contacting us.

Best regards,

(With that in the source)

Does anyone know the PHP I would use to have message like that auto-respond on the form? I can't access the PHP file so if anyone here can help, I'd be very grateful!

Cheers in advance :)

Everything
basically with PHP you can send e-mails.
a very simple way to do that once you send that initial e-mail from the form to where ever redirect it to the next e-mail that has to be sent. keep the their e-mail they input and just use the subject and body/post saying thank you.

thats about all you have to do.

since when you are sending an e-mail in php, you use the header location part to go back to another page or whatever you want. you can set it to redirect you to send another e-mail. than on that page you use the header location to redirect you back to the homepage or something.

it will still be quick and easy for your site and you can set it up to only work with certain forms :P
