Urg. It looks like I may have to resort to pming them. That could be a pain in the butt. Anyway to attach entries from multiple sections together? For instance two different text boxes to both be part of the body? When I tried this last it just sent the last box and none of the earlier ones.

Like as separate line of code. Make another variable equal to the combined version and then assign that as the text box, or title line or where ever needed? That would pretty much solve my issue of having to sort through them.

Okay it's starting to annoy me now so I am going to post the entire code.

Code: HTML

<form action='http://z8.invisionfree.com/Birth_of_the_Empire/index.php?' method='post' name='REPLIER' onsubmit='return ValidateForm(1)'>
<input type="hidden" value="Msg" name="act"/>
<input type="hidden" value="04" name="CODE"/>
<input type="hidden" value="01" name="MODE"/>
<input type="hidden" value="" name="OID"/>
<input type='hidden' name='entered_name' value='Matt' />
<input type='hidden' name='msg_title' value="Action_Type"+"Action_Title"/>
<input type='hidden' name='Post' value="Action"+"Notes"/>
<br />

<div><div align="center"><strong>To send an action fill out the following form. Click 'Submit' when complete.
</strong>
</div></div>
<br />
<div class='tableborder'>
<div class='pformstrip'>Form</div>
<table width='100%' cellspacing='1'>

<tr>
<td class='pformleftw' valign='top'><b>Action Type:</b></td>
<td class='pformright'>
<SELECT NAME="Action_Type">
<OPTION SELECTED VALUE="[DPOL]">Domestic Politics</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="[GPOL]">Galactic Politics</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="[MILI]">Military</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="[TECH]">Technology</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="[ECON]">Economics</OPTION>
<OPTION VALUE="[GEN]">General</OPTION>
</select></td>
</tr>

<tr>
<td class='pformleftw' valign='top'><b>Title:</b><br /><br /></td>
<td class='pformright'<input type='text' size='40' maxlength='50' name='Action_Title' value='' tabindex='1' class='forminput' /></td>
</tr>

<tr>
<td class='pformleftw' valign='top'><b>Action:</b><br /><br /></td>
<td class='pformright'><textarea cols="80" rows="20" name="Action" tabindex="3" class="textinput"></textarea>
</td>
</tr>

<tr>
<td valign='top'><b>If you have any information that you want to be included in the news article written for this action, include it below. This could include statistics, speeches, etc. You may also write an article for the action, and it could help dramatically speed up processing time for your action. Please use proper English, and correct grammar when writing in this section. Note, you are not required to fill out this portion of the form.</b>
</td>
</tr>

<tr>
<td class='pformleftw' valign='top'><b>OOC Comments:</b><br /><br /></td>
<td class='pformright'><textarea cols="80" rows="20" name="Notes" tabindex="3" class="textinput"></textarea>
</td>
</tr>

<tr>
<td valign='top'><b>Notice:</b> Your action will be processed and answered as soon as possible. If you don't get an answer within a week, PM the Head Admin. DO NOT SPAM!
</td>
</tr>
</table>

<div class='pformstrip' align='center' colspan="2"><input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit Action " tabindex='4' accesskey="s" class='forminput'/></div>
</div>
</form>
</div>

when I hit submit I get a pm with Action_Title as the title and Action as the body. Just those words not what I actually put into those fields.

i was expecting some JS or jQuery. what you have there is well completely messed up. there is no possible way of doing what you want to do without any JS or jQuery.

Dunno if you know Javascript or not, but I would suggest learning it pretty fast if you want to mod anything to do with ZB

http://www.w3schools.com/
http://www.jQuery.com

jQuery is included by default on every ZB board and it makes life MUCH easier. The problem is, it has a lot of stuff to learn. I for example used a VERY roundabout method in my 'default post code' when I could have just used .next() - but I'm not very "fluent" in jQuery so I didn't know that at the time

But remember, you have to know your way around with Javascript before you go off and learn jQuery. :P

I know some javascript (mostly what I know in Java and changed to fit that language).

I am using an IF board not ZB.

What parts would be javascript? I'm not to good at figuring out which parts to change and which not to change.

None
I'm fairly certain you need an auth_key (xc or secure, forgot which) when sending a PM as well, although I may be wrong.

The only solution would be to use AJAX or an IFRAME to send the PM, so you may want to read up on both.
