I have a script to use a Shoutbox for ZB's that requires a login, but its not working and he hasn't the time to fix it at the time.

Is there anyone here that can look at it and see if they can determine what's from without excessive time?

The "Coming Soon" and the Refresh button both show up.

But the post/actual shoutbox does not.

I blocked out my website, but I have that spot filled out when you get to it.

Code:

<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="4">
<tr>
<th align="center" width="2%" class='titlemedium'><img src="http://i6.ifrm.com/style_images/1/spacer.gif" alt="" width="28" height="1" /></th>
<th align="left" width="100%" class='titlemedium'>Shoutbox</th>
</tr> <tr>
<td class="row4" align="center"> </td>
<td class="row4"><b>
<script>
a = document.getElementById("top_info");
if (a.innerHTML.match("Guest")){
document.write("<B>You are not allowed to view the shoutbox.</b>");
}
else document.write("Coming soon");
</script><BR>
<form method="post">
<input type="button" value="Refresh"
onclick="window.location.reload()">
</form>
<br /><span class='desc'></span></td>
</tr> <tr>
<td class='darkrow2' colspan="5"> ZB Shout Center created by: <a href='http://www.youscripting.info'/>Fierce</a></td>
</tr>
<td class='darkrow3' colspan="5"><center>
<script type="text/javascript">
a = document.getElementById("userlinks");
b = a.getElementsByTagName("A");
for (i=0;i<b.length;i++)
if (b[i].href.match("admin")){
document.write("<a href='Thisiswherewebsitegoes'/>Admin Login</a>")
}
</script>
</center></td>
</tr>
</table>

Bump, can no one look over the code in a few minutes and see a problem in it?

I just need to know if its a quick fix or something that would require serious coding.

The attached image is what I get with your code. Is that what is showing up on your forum?

And by looking at your code, that's all it does. There's absolutely nothing which shows the actual shoutbox. Unless there's more to this code somewhere, then as of right now all it is is a table.

Could you link to where you got it?

That's what I get too, and its suppose to be a shoutbox. But if you don't see anything in it that would enable it to do that, then I guess he didn't know what he was doing ;/

Is this part not a "posting" mechanism?

Code:

</script><BR>
<form method="post">
<input type="button" value="Refresh"
onclick="window.location.reload()">

Because of what I recall from doing HTML the <"form method="post"> meant that you could use it like a chatbox.

That's a form, which could hypothetically contain the fields for a shoutbox. However, all it has is a button that refreshes the page when you click on it. There would need to be more coding in there to even show an actual shoutbox, let alone have it submit and save when you type something in.

Unless there's more to this code that is missing, unfortunately there's nothing there that would make it an actual shoutbox. I'm wondering if the "Coming Soon" message meant that whoever created this was planning to finish it up at a later date...

http://zeta.ifcode.com/index.php?letter=*&search=shout

I did a quick search in the ZB Code index if you want to give one of those a try. :)

Yeah, its from a guy on Staredit.net called Fierce

He also programs at the site listed in the code.

( He posted it in a topic under Computers labeled "Login required Shoutbox" )
