WEEK OF JUNE 14 - JUNE 18, 1976 Eric is determined to find out who his real father is; Scott wants to keep the sordid truth from him... Jo felt the needles, and the doctors told her she could go home, but not to expect a full recovery yet... Bruce and Amy were married. WEEK OF JUNE 21 - JUNE 25, 1976 Stephanie warned David to keep his eyes off Jennifer... Woody had a yen for Liza... Jo urged Ellie to set a wedding date with Stu... Things got sticky between John and Scott, Eunice's lawyer, when John rushed to Jennifer's defense... Chris' wife, Gwen, arrived in town and put a wrench in his plans to marry Jo. WEEK OF JUNE 28 - JULY 2, 1976 John didn't sign the separation papers... Things didn't go well in the bedroom for Amy and Bruce; she felt cheap and unloved... Gwen begged Jo to give up Chris... Cathy told Eric about his illegitimacy. WEEK OF JULY 5 - JULY 9, 1976 Liza accepted a modeling job with Woody in Hawaii... Scott agreed to allow Eric to meet his real father... Gwen went to Gary for a physical; Chris thinks she's feigning illness, but Jo was on tenterhooks. WEEK OF JULY 12 - JULY 16, 1976 note was made of pre-emptions during the week for the Democratic National Convention. Gary told Chris that Gwen has a few years left to live. Chris broke the news to Joe. Liza's holding down two jobs, and neither Steve nor Woody is pleased. Janet is helping Eunice win John back by making him jealous. WEEK OF JULY 19 - JULY 23, 1976 David found Ralph. Scott refused to believe Ralph has changed his stripes. Kathy was upset Scott hadn't told her. Chris tried to persuade Gwen to leave; she refused. More sex problems for Amy and Bruce and social problems for Jennifer and John. Liza paid the deposit for Steve's recording session. WEEK of JULY 26 - JULY 30, 1976 Jo gave Chris his ring back so he'd be free to help Gwen. Wade loaned Steve money and Steve recorded his song. Amy ran off with Tory to brother Mike's. Eunice's scheme to make John jealous worked. Jennifer buckled when relating her phantom attacker story to David. WEEK OF AUGUST 2 - AUGUST 6, 1976 Gwen found out about her illness and Chris left her for San Francisco. Stephanie confirmed David's suspicions about Jennifer's rape story. The Haywoods came to dinner at the Phillips'. Scott's on tenterhooks about Ralph and Eric. Gary's new patient: a pregnant model who claims Woody Reed's the father. WEEK OF AUGUST 9 - AUGUST 13, 1976 John got the truth out of Jennifer and packed his bags. Eric became more attached to Ralph. Liza quit her job at the inn, then had to fight off an aggressive admirer. Amy returned to Bruce but they agreed to terminate their sex life with each other. WEEK OF AUGUST 16 - AUGUST 20, 1976 Woody warned Liza not to tell Steve about the photographer's attack, but Steve noticed the bruises. David made a play for Jennifer, but she rushed to John for forgiveness. He refused. WEEK OF AUGUST 23 - AUGUST 27, 1976 Gary told Jo about a risky operation she should consider. Nurse Nancy Craig set her sights on Bruce. Amy feigned indifference. John vainly tried to reconcile with Eunice. WEEK OF AUGUST 30 - SEPTEMBER 3, 1976 Woody offered Liza an assignment in Rio. Jo's daughter Patti and Patti's husband Len returned to comfort Jo, who underwent surgery. Eric accused Scott of keeping him away from his real father, Ralph. Jennifer increased her prescription of sleeping pills. WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 6 - SEPTEMBER 10, 1976 Rebuffed by everyone, Jennifer took the sleeping pills, then made a desperate call to Gary, who found her unconscious. John and Eunice reconciled. David grew interested in Patti. Steve was miffed that Liza went to Rio. WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 13 - SEPTEMBER 17, 1976 Jennifer had cardiac arrest, she's still in a coma. Mr. pace threatened Gary and John for being responsible. Jo regained feelings in her legs. Liza returned. Steve accused her of sleeping with Woody. Patti fretted that the family would learn of her trouble with Len. WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 20 - SEPTEMBER 24, 1976 Mr. Pace is suing Gary for malpractice, Kathy will defend him. Jennifer regained consciousness but is mentally unbalanced. Patti lied to Jo and said Len insisted Patti stay until Jo's fully recovered. WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 27 - OCTOBER 1, 1976 Gary was suspended from the hospital, but found work at a free clinic. Steve and Liza reconciled, as did John and Eunice. WEEK OF OCTOBER 4 - OCTOBER 8, 1976 Jennifer was released to Stephanie's care. Mr. Pace, who's in debt, turned his attention to Stephanie. Patti brought her daughter to Henderson and told Jo her marriage was going down the drain. Ralph intimated he would bring suit for complete custody of Eric. WEEK OF OCTOBER 11 - OCTOBER 15, 1976 Jennifer stole a gun, intent on getting rid of Eunice. Liza and Steve celebrated their first anniversary. Steve learned that his song wouldn't be recorded by Kitty Merritt. WEEK OF OCTOBER 18 - OCTOBER 22, 1976 Walter urged Stephanie to marry him immediately. Eric decided he wants to live with Ralph. Jennifer stalked Eunice. Patti and Dave grew chummy. Steve was miffed when Liza used the apartment for a modeling session. WEEK OF OCTOBER 25 - OCTOBER 29, 1976 Patti admitted to Jo that there have been other men in her life besides Len. Steve left for a New York meeting with his publisher, leaving Liza to Woody's charms. Jennifer plotted to kill Eunice by making it look like a burglary. Walter and Stephanie made plans to marry, and he arranged for joint ownership of his investments. WEEK OF NOVEMBER 1 - NOVEMBER 5, 1976 Runaway Eric showed up at Ralph's. David was shocked to learn Stephanie had married Walter. Gary's trial continued as Jennifer broke into Eunice's apartment. Steve returned home to find Liza partying with Woody. WEEK OF NOVEMBER 8 - NOVEMBER 12, 1976 Jennifer shot Eunice in the back. Gary was fined for professional negligence. Steve stewed when he learned that a photographer had brutally assaulted Liza. Eric told Wendy he'll be living full-time with Ralph. WEEK OF NOVEMBER 15 - NOVEMBER 19, 1976 Eunice died. Police began an investigation. Walter acquired power of attorney for the Collins Corporation. Steve tried to find another job. WEEK OF NOVEMBER 22 - NOVEMBER 26, 1976 (THANKSGIVING WEEK) Bruce returned home to Amy just in time for Eunice's funeral. John hired David to find the murderer. Steve was outraged at published gossip about Liza and Woody, who offered her a modeling job in Paris. WEEK OF NOVEMBER 29 - DECEMBER 3, 1976 Liza left with Woody for a Paris modeling assignment. Bruce invited Gail Caldwell to meet Amy. Jennifer smashed the jade bowl she'd stolen from Eunice. Stephanie found the pieces and had it repaired -- as a surprise. WEEK OF DECEMBER 6 - DECEMBER 10, 1976 Unaware of Amy's newfound love for him, Bruce romanced Gail, who was suspicious of the Carson "no-strings" marriage. Liza grew frantic when she learned Steve had packed his bags. Jennifer decided to kill David. Prompted by Jo, Patti made a stab at reconciling with Len. Eric spent a few days with Scott and Kathy. WEEK OF DECEMBER 13 - DECEMBER 17, 1976 Gail agreed to date Gary to cover her relationship with Bruce. John threw Jennifer out when she went to him saying they could be together now. David's investigation finally pointed to Jennifer. Len and Patti agreed to work on a reconciliation. Ralph and Eric aren't getting along. Liza lashed out at Steve when she learned he moved to their old apartment and hadn't bothered to tell her. WEEK OF DECEMBER 20 - DECEMBER 24, 1976 Jennifer was arrested for gun theft but was bailed out by Walter in time to spend Christmas with the Paces. Eric reluctantly went with the Heywoods to Arizona, where Ralph has a job offer. Gail went to dinner with Gary at the Collins house, and everyone else joined Jo, John, and Stu at the Inn for songs and merriment. WEEK OF DECEMBER 27 - DECEMBER 31, 1976 Pop singer Melissa Manchester arrived in town and told Steve she's interested in his music. Ralph decided to make a permanent move to Arizona with Betty and Eric, as a reconciled Patti and Len also left. A letter implicating John in Eunice's murder was found in his room. |
