I think many of us on here already have accounts at the Alternate History board, and nation simulations are kind of like timelines, except on a much larger scale. We could do a timeline (or something else) covering a naval arms race (perhaps with some naval battles as well), a space race, or something else. Anyone interested? |

I'd be interested, depending on the time period. I had some ideas of widening out the WW2 timeline I'm working on here to include others steering particular nations, but no one has bitten so far. |

Most of my free time is taken up planning for the next WE, and lately, planning for the MP game with Matt and company. Which is rather ironic since it involves some of the types of plans Simon referred to. |

I'm fairly knowledgeable on 1860 or so to the present. |

That is my general period of interest as well, so I'm open to potential ideas. For now, my previous offers of Germany, the USSR, Japan and the USA are open, with input ranging from suggestions to full blown strategy. |

General ideas for particular countries, so that we can avoid the trap of not having nations react fully to alternate developments in other nations. It comes down to some thoughts of how Japan would act in a radically different strategic circumstance; Soviet moves, strategies and reactions once Barbarossa kicks off, which may well see some sort of two front war; US reactions to what looks like an earlier involvement in the Atlantic War, then working out the counter offensive against Japan in the Pacific, broad strategic direction for industrial production, etc; German reactions to a broadening war in the Mediterranean (Greece, Turkey, Italy and possibly Spain being fronts), the loss of Norway, strategy and aims in an invasion of the Soviet Union and general deployments and ideas; Any Italian options short of surrender; Also, any interesting ideas or suggestions regarding operations, potential technological development etc. This would all be incorporated into an overall timeline. I've got an idea where it would generally head towards, but want to avoid making it too Anglocentric. Edited by Simon Darkshade, Feb 2 2014, 06:47 AM.

I think both our timelines can go much faster with each other to bounce ideas off of. Trying to keep track of all the reactions and counter-reactions is why my timeline is taking so long to complete. It looks like you have already gotten into the World War II (and it would appear, a second world war). Your timeline is quite detailed, and while I can help out with anything specific you have right now, it might take a while to catch up and make larger contributions. |
