Now here's an interesting challenge: a White Russian Alaska.

Under what circumstances could Russia hold onto Alaska through the 1910's, and see the establishment of a breakaway tsarist (or anti-communist) regime by 1920, following the civil war?

It wouldn't be inordinantly difficult to preserve Russian rule per se for a few decades, but it becomes very tough by the 1890s.

Even if it survives, it is taken over by the British/Canadians or the Americans post Great War; there simply isn't the basis for any continuation.

Pity. Think of the possibilities of a rump White Russian state.

That is indeed an interesting notion, but I can't see how it can progress past the point of unofficial exclaves in Shanghai and Manchuria without an earlier PoD.
