Hello, I am involved with a choir and we are singing at a small event. We have prepared a medley of songs (bought the sheet music of the medley. All above board so far!) The issue is that the organisers want us to cut short our performance as the medley is a bit long. Our MD says we can't cut the last two songs as this would count as an arrangement. I think this sounds like an extreme interpretation of the rules, as this "arrangement" would involve singing the songs as written, but stopping after the third song instead of singing to the end . Nothing extra needs adding to make the song complete . So would this infringe copyright? Please help Thanks I didn't find the right solution from the Internet References: https://www.abrsm.org/forum infographic video |
