Sitting behind a large desk Mason Icestorme was scowling. He was finished, he was done, it was going to be Marius' job to marry and provide their mother with the female heir. He wouldn't do it, he couldn't it was making him insane. He really should know better afterall it always started out the same. This last time was however the straw that broke the camels back so to say. Mace couldn't believe how stupid he'd been, and if he could he would have kicked his own ass. Running a hand through his dark hair he sighed and leaned back in his chair. How stupid could he be he wondered. She had been a pretty little thing and curved in all the right places. It wasn't as if that was all he had seen, but he was a man. He liked round and she had been round in all the right spots. Marion had been sweet, fully of life, and looked at him like a person unstead of an Icestorme. If it hadn't been for the conversation he'd over heard she would have gotten exactly what he tried to keep out of others hands. Had it really been just yesterday when he had went to see her. To think that he had thought she would actually be the one and then to realize she was no different then all the others. He could feel the ice forming in his heart at each word that passed through her soft lips. 'If it wasn't for the position I'd gain he wouldn't be worth my time. Like I'd really marry a man who's sweaty half the time. He's so easy, just bat my eyes and look at him like I adore him," he closed his eyes as her words flowed through his head. Oh he knew better, he knew it had taken her months to even get him to talk to her. It had taken her a year to get a date from him. Two years after the first date, which was yesterday, he had planned to ask her to marry him. Instead of getting what she wanted she had gotten removed from his home. In less then a minute after hearing her conversation with her friend she had been removed from his sight. He had given her the ring and told her that she deserved it after having put up with him for so long. After that he had turned around and walked inside closing the door in her face. Maybe he could visit one of the other places soon. He didn't have to use his last name, he was almost positive those that knew him wouldn't say anything. Perhaps he would look elsewhere for a wife and heir for his mother. He hated to do that since he wanted to keep the name, title, and bloodline Platinum. It wasn't that he frowned upon those who didn't, but it was just a preference. The Marchioness and High Guard of Tenebrum had a Joining Ceremony coming up soon, maybe he could start looking there. More then likely not since to his understanding only the ruling families were invited. He'd have to think about the more before he decided what to do. Though he was liking the idea more and more that Marius do the duty. His younger brother didn't want to marry though, and he himself did. With a shake of his head he leaned forward and went back to work. |

Morri knocked faintly upon her eldest son's door before entering without waiting for permission, there were perks to being High Lady and mother afterall. She sat on a chair in front of him and played with a miniature sword. She didn't speak but glanced at him between occupying herself by waving the little trinket around like a wand producing frosty mist and even snowflakes.

| He didn't need to look up to know his mother was the person walking into his office. "Hello Mother," he said while he finished working. Even while he worked on the papers infront of him he watched her. With a sigh he sat back and folded his arms across his chest. Lifting a brow he looked at her. "Is there something you needed Mother?" he finally questioned. |

| Morri shrugged slightly and put the little sword back on the desk. "Well, I did ant tell you to quit putting so much on yourself too quickly. And don't sell your poor aged mother short. She still has a few good years left in her. It's not beyond the scope of possibilities that she could remarry one day and her own daughters," she pointed out to him and got to her feet. She started toward the door and paused. "Oh, and don't feel too bad, I would have never let you actually marry that woman," she added before floating out. |

| Mace snorted at her. "Selling you short I do not. As for too much on myself, well I'll handle that," he told her sounding almost stern. A disgusted look crossed his face. "Oh that just gross. The last thing I want to think about is you doing...well what it would take to get that daughter," he told her and shuddered. |
