Hi Every one about a week ago I picked up a cockatoo , the owners did not want him any more as asked if I could take him or find him a new home well you know me I have 2 too's now I took the too to the vet yesterday for a check up and to make sure of the sex well I now have an Eric he is around 5 years old , He can talk but only says Hello and Hello cocky , he doen not like the kids or hubby but I guess we will learn to like them . Before you ask Cathy I'll get some pics today of him he is a nice bird he does not make much noise , I cant work out why the owners did not want him but I guess they have a reason |

Oh Nat you know me TOO well, sorry for the awful pun. Poor toos they seem to really have to be passed around before they find someone like you. I do not think people realize what they are taking on when they get a cockatoo. Thank goodness for people like you. How do you think Chopper will handle this new arrival, do cockatoos enjoy each others company or do they bond so strongly with their people family that they get jealous. |

Chopper does not quiet know how to take Eric yet , they are not out at the same time Most toos if they are hand raised will bond to a human , some times that bond is so strong they will not breed. So far Chopper is getting use to Eric as long as Chopper is out first and he has his play time with the family he does not mind to much. I wish people would work out that too's live for 50 + years not 5+ like a budgie I'm tring to work out if I should get a girl too for Eric so they can breed |

Nat I know that Chopper lives inside and not in one of the outdoor avairies, will Eric remain indoors or will he be in an outdoor avairy? I love that Chopper is okay with situation as long as he is first, he knows his place...lol Is it possible or should I say probable that down the road Chopper and Eric could become friends. Again I have to ask where do you find the time to do all that you do. I wish people would educate themselves about toos before they get one, I know how beautiful and what incredible birds they are but you have to be a special person to have one. Thank goodness there are people like you to help with the rescue of these wonderous birds. |

I'm not sure Cathy if Eric will go out side, I'm hoping to build a bird room out side like a sun room so they can go out there during the day and fly but they will come in at night . I would like to have all the babies out there this year instead of being inside all the time . I would hope they will get along with a little time , With every too I sell I ask the new owners alot of questions to make sure they know what they are doing but not every one does this , |

Nat I wish every breeder was as responsible as you. When you look at the pictures of a too you can understand why people fall in love with them. They are magnificent birds. |
