RULES

The purpose of this forum is to provide a common ground where people can discuss concepts and ideas in order to make the publication of the Brewing Troubles doujinshi a reality

Any suggestions are more than welcome but there are some rules that must be kept in mind:

- The beginning of the story must remain the same, which is England screwing up the potion and transforming everyone else in his house
- The story must be about the different nations trying to return back to normal
- Their new forms must be as closely related to canon as possible
- Despite their new forms their personalities are essentially the same, so they should act accordingly

And these shouldn't be necessary to be mentioned:

- All posts must be in English, so everyone can follow the conversation
- Use proper grammar and vocabulary. A lot of people don't have English as their first language to begin with
- No abusive behavior. That includes no trolling, swearing, spamming, bashing, etc
- Keep on topic. We have different sections for a reason
- No double posting. The edit button is your friend (though don't use it to delete evidence. People will still remember)
- No massive quote chains. Please keep them at minimum
- No bumping. This is not a popularity contest
- PMs are restricted to reporting errors, abuse and such. Which means any ideas, concepts and such are to be posted in the forum threads
- Go to the Introduction sub-Forum before posting elsewhere. That section serves more than just a place to say hello. It's where you can have your own thread and help the staff by providing vital information of your help
- Have fun! :D

People who are caught violating the rules will receive a warning. If caught a second time then they'll be banned from the forum

FAQ

What is Hetalia?
Axis Powers Hetalia is a webmanga that "involves anthropomorphic representations of the world's nations, with the main storyline taking place in WWI and WWII, though there are stories set in earlier and more modern eras. The series is named for the main character Italy, with "Hetalia" being a portmanteau of the words hetare (useless) and Italia."
For more information read this wiki

What is the "Brewing Trouble Project"?
This project started with illustration Birvan did for a fictitious cover for a short Hetalia story she came up with. Although it wasn't intended to go further than that, the support was so overwhelming that the attempt to turn this story into an actual doujinshi (fan comic) started
But because it's too much work for a single person this project depends on the collaboration of everyone who wishes to lend a hand. Be it just a simple idea or more elaborate efforts in the later stages of the process.

What do you mean by Production Stages?
Making a comic isn't a simple process, especially when you need to take it to a more professional level in order to meet publishing demands (set page sizes, image quality, etc)
In order to make the process as simple as possible it was divided into 6 Production Steps:

1) Concept Stage - it involves tossing in ideas and decide on the story, characters, setting and any other details that will be found in the comic
2) Storyboarding Stage - it takes the ideas that were decided in the previous step and develops them further, deciding how the story will be presented and paced, the number and format of the panels, the perspective, etc
3) Sketching Stage - it involves drawing a rough version of the comic and check where changes to the paneling, backgrounds, poses, actions, balloon placement, etc need to be made
4) Inking Stage - it's the process of setting the designs and decisions in stone by inking all pages (balloons are to be placed separately)
5) Coloring Stage - this involves adding the colors, tones, shading, word balloons, etc
6) Publishing Stage - it's all the preparation process to have the comic printed and shipped (will depend on the amount of interested people to purchase it)

How can I participate?
You just need to go to the introductions sub-forum and leave a post there before helping around with your ideas and such
Note: the introduction post serves as a Volunteer List to tell who can help with what, so please don't skip it

Do I get paid for helping with this?
No, this whole project is purely voluntary. Any money made from this will be solemnly to cover the printing and shipping expenses

Can I still make suggestions about the different characters and such, even though they're already determined?
Until it's said otherwise none of the concepts are set in stone, so you're free to make suggestions and give ideas

I only found out about this now, can I still help?
Yes

Okay, so uh...
Even if it is all in English, we can still make suggestions with little translations when the countries spout random expressions in their own languages... Right?

And when we spot an abuser of the thrid restriction, who should we contact? (You know, to kick him\her out or give them our heed.)
Also, I might swear a few times on my posts when trying to prove a point, but I'll revise them and try to make it as acceptable as possible, haha;;;

As long as there's a translation it should be ok

Send me a pm with a link to where the offense took place. Minor swearing shouldn't be too bad, as long as it's not aimed towards anyone. Even so it's best to keep it as clean as possible ;)
